Conor McGregor is well and truly back and starting to show glimpses of his old self. From a time when McGregor seemed like he couldn’t be bothered about what was happening in the UFC to now having a take on all the big names, we’ve come a long way. In some ways, fans are seeing the return of the classic Conor, and they couldn’t be more excited.
Conor McGregor is all set to return to action against Michael Chandler in a few weeks time. After nearly 3 years away from the sport, the Irishman will mark his return at UFC 303 on June 29, International Fight Week. Ahead of the fight, we’re seeing the return of the vintage heel (wrestling parlance for villain) Conor.

Known for his trash talk and ruthless words, we’re seeing something similar once again. Whilst he has been taunting and teasing Chandler all throughout the build-up of the fight, he has now shifted his attention to the rest of the roster. As such, when Conor is unleashed, no one in and around his weight class is safe from him.
Conor McGregor rips Leon Edwards’ performances and PPV buys
In a recent live stream with Duelbits on Kick, Conor McGregor riled up a storm. From using all that he had in himself to not have a sip of his Forged Irish Stout to going off on some of the biggest names on the UFC roster, his recent appearance had it all. That said, one of the main men that he had a lot to say about was welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
Currently, ‘Rocky’ is set to make the third defense of his welterweight crown in a rematch against Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in Manchester. That said, McGregor let his thoughts be known on Leon’s upcoming fight and the fighter’s overall hype.
Conor McGregor on the Welterweight picture:
“There’s too many decisions going on now with that Leon [Edwards] fella. Leon Edwards loves a decision.
And then he’s fighting another f***ing decision guy, your man Belal [Muhammad]. So, not great times in the welterweight title… pic.twitter.com/xUqXBe3VNX

“There’s too many decisions going on now with that Leon (Edwards) fella. Leon Edwards loves a decision.
And then he’s fighting another f***ing decision guy, your man Belal (Muhammad). So, not great times in the welterweight title picture. 200 (PPV) buys, not even, 150,000 buys if it’s even a PPV. It’s probably not even a PPV.”
A rather harsh assessment of the English champion, yet, Conor McGregor once again showed that it’s no hold barred in the fight game. Coincidentally, Leon Edwards in an interview around the same time as the above-mentioned livestream, revealed on The MMA Hour that if McGregor beats Chandler, he hopes to defend his title against the Irishman at Madison Square Garden later on in the year.
Conor McGregor unleashes on Kamaru Usman, Ilia Topuria and more
Aside from a little jest at Leon Edwards, there was a lot more that Conor McGregor had to say. As such, some would suggest that Edwards, Belal Muhammad, and even Colby Covington possibly got off lightly as a lot of other fighters were not so lucky. Thus, as fans poured into the livestream and questioned him about numerous fighters, McGregor ripped them up one by one.
As such, let’s take a look at most of the fighters he mentioned and what he had to say about them.
Conor McGregor gives his thoughts on Kamaru Usman and Ilia Topuria 😭
“Kamaru Usman? F*** him, he’s a bum.
Opinions on Topuria? F*** him too. Don’t give a f*** about him either.”

Kamaru Usman: “Kamaru Usman? F**k him. F**k Kamaru Usman, he’s a bum. Bald little Malteser head”
Ilia Topuria: “Thoughts about Toporio? F**k him too. I don’t give a f*** about him either. He reminds me of a little r**ard called Artem Lobov, Topuria does. Two little r**ards.”
Notably, Conor believes that Max Holloway would outclass Ilia Topuria in their proposed title fight in Spain. That said, he ripped the Spaniard, possibly due to his callouts after beating Alexander Volkanovski earlier this year. Seeing that they’ve already had a small back-and-forth on social media, their situation is one to keep and eye on.
Further, McGregor also took shots at Alexander Volkanovski as well, “Thoughts on Volkanovski, you know. No thoughts as well, f*** him too. F*** him too. I’d have kicked his head clean of his shoulders and that’s a fact.”
Conor McGregor talks about the recent allegations of Khabib being in debt with the Russian government
“That’s typical rat behaviour… I’m ecstatic and delighted that that’s coming on top of him.
And we all will welcome him back into the fight game where he’s ran from.”

Thereafter he proceeded to rip into Khabib Nurmagomedov owing to allegations of him being indebted to the Russian government. Labelling it as ‘typical rat behavior’ Conor expressed his delight at the situation and hopefully, it would lead to the Dagestani’s return to combat sports.
Lastly, Conor McGregor also touched on the unfortunate situation with Sean O’Malley. Owing to Ryan Garcia testing positive for PEDs last month, McGregor caught O’Malley in the crossfire. Whilst expressing his disdain for Garcia, Conor also brought up the bantamweight champ’s past of testing positive for the same substance. That said, Conor made it clear that he very much likes O’Malley, and would like to amends in the future.
