Madison Square Garden in New York was sold out as MMA fans from around the world came to witness one of the most stacked cards of 2021 as Kamaru Usman took on Colby Covington in a rematch for the UFC’s welterweight championship at UFC 268. 20,715 fans gathered to watch as Champions triumphed with both Rose Namajunas and Kamaru Usman defending their strawweight championship and welterweight championship against Zhang Weili and Colby Covington respectively.


UFC 268 marked the fourth-highest gate for Madison Square Garden and the 8th highest gate in the history of the UFC with $9,903,556.86 in revenue. Falling just short of touching the coveted $10 million mark, it’s safe to say that Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington had the attention of fights fans around the world. UFC 268 is expected to rake in huge moolah with the PPV revenue, with expected buys in the excess of 500,000.

Heading into the main event, Kamaru Usman once again showed his composure, his power, and his vicious jabs that proved to be too good for Colby Covington. Usman dropped Covington twice in the second round and finished the fight on a great note to get the unanimous decision win.
