Richard Morgan Fliehr, popularly known as Ric Flair, is a pro wrestler with an astonishing career in pro wrestling stretching over five decades. His fans hail him as one of the greatest pro wrestlers in history. Besides being a 16-time World Champion, he has also been inducted twice into the WWE Hall of Fame. Not to mention, when he speaks, everyone listens to him mesmerizingly.
During an interaction, Flair went on to talk about MMA. He then mentioned the names of professional wrestlers who were so tough that they had the ability to destroy any UFC fighter. Ric Flair picked three such names.
Harley Race
Harley Leland Race, known as Harley Race, was seen making his name across various wrestling promotions. He had several Championships to his name and was a World Champion eight times. A Hall of Famer who is regarded as one of the best in history.
While talking about him, Flair stated that there was not a single MMA fighter who could have beaten Race. It is all because of his toughness.
Dick Slater
Richard Van Slater, who is popularly known as Dick Slater, also made his name by wrestling in numerous promotions. While wrestling in those promotions, he has several Championships to his name; however, his stint in the WWF/WWE was short-lived.
While talking about him besides, Harley Race, Flair said, “F.Y.I., nobody in MMA could have beaten Harley Race or Dick Slater. Those guys were just that tough.” It is thus self-explanatory why he is on this list.
Haku
Besides Race and Slater, there’s another name that Flair picked, who he believes could destroy any MMA fighter. Flair mentioned, “Don’t ever think that anybody would mess with Haku. If he was a young guy and he got into MMA, my god — he’d have done everything! He was the toughest son of a bi*ch I’ve ever met in my whole life. No lie, take my word for it“.
Haku is a Tongan pro-wrestler who has appeared in multiple promotions and has given many years of his life to the WWF/WWE. In his vast and expanding career, he has captured several championships. Not only that, he has been praised by many of his fellow wrestlers as the toughest fighter in the world of pro wrestling.
Ric Flair‘s choice of pro wrestlers is commendable. After all, these are among the greatest and toughest wrestlers who have been inside the ring. Meanwhile, a long time has passed since Flair appeared on WWE television. Previously, he stated that he would never retire, so many are waiting to see his next appearance within the Stamford-based promotion.
