The name Andrew Tate and the word ‘controversy’ go hand in hand. The 35-year-old social media personality is one of the few that has had a swift rise to global fame. His following boasts a reach that most of his peers can only dream of. Despite being banned by almost all the major platforms, Tate never ceased to get his name in people’s mouths, for good and bad reasons.
The controversial self-help coach and his brother Tristan have yet to see the light at the end of their prison tunnel. The Romanian police arrested the duo in late December last year on alleged human trafficking, r*pe, and other criminal charges. However, both have denied their involvement. In the past, Andrew has made several headlines for his misogynistic and radical comments. However, this case has further vilified his name in the public.
The former kickboxing champion and his brother have been imprisoned for almost 90 days. It is worth mentioning that the prosecutors, allegedly, have yet to provide any sturdy evidence against the duo. Despite maintaining constant innocence, the court has denied their release appeal 5 consecutive times. Earlier this week the court announced that ‘Top G‘ and his brother will be kept in custody until April end.
However, in what appears to be a source of positive light, recent reports suggest that the US Embassy has started to intervene in the highly watched case of 2023. Since Andrew and his 34-year-old brother are US citizens, the embassy has made it a priority to help the duo detained abroad. Whether or not Tate will be released early, the case only gets more captivating.
UFC personalities came out to support Andrew Tate
Andrew Tate has garnered several billion views in total through his “teachings” on how to become rich and free from “the matrix.” Having amassed a 76-9 kickboxing record, the British-American sure does know a thing or two about martial arts.
Way before his arrest, the 36-year-old had already made his name known in the MMA world. Tate recently mingled with a few UFC fighters, including bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, right before UFC 280.
Post his detainment, several MMA personalities immediately came forward to express support for Tate’s release. Some of these names are fan favorites, which is what has left most fans in disbelief and shock. While some backed Tate through Instagram comments, others chose to take the risk by going all out on Twitter.
