It looks like AEW have acquired another exceptional talent. A member of the infamous ‘Bullet Club‘, SwitchBlade Jay White made his presence felt at AEW Dynamite last night. AEW’s President, Tony Khan had been teasing this for a week as well. Although we did not see much of Jay White on the show, his arrival has caught our attention. He joined hands with his friends in the Young Bucks and Adam Cole. So, what will he be doing in the company?
Who is Jay White?
Jay White made a name for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He joined the ‘Bullet Club‘ and since then his career has sky-rocketed. White became the first-ever NJPW Grand Slam Champion. The Switchblade also had a short career in Ring of Honor.
What could Jay White do in AEW?
Jay White is back with his band. The interesting point to note here was the commentary during this segment. Tony Schiavone asked the question, “What is Kenny Omega’s reaction to this?” He also said that he suspects Cole is in business for himself. Kenny Omega is currently off the television. With the hints given by Tony Schiavone we could predict what the story is going to be.
There are 2 possible options here. Omega could return and instantly start a feud with his fellow Bullet Club members. Or, Kenny could reunite with his friends but over the months he could get jealous and turn on them. Jay White is mostly is going to be on the side of Adam Cole and so, eventually, he will be facing Kenny Omega one way or the other.
Given the fact that White is a fantastic wrestler, we will be treated to some excellent wrestling. But, he has nothing else to do in the company to be honest.
AEW is signing a lot of great talents. It is awesome to see them when they arrive but beyond that, the wrestlers are lost in the shuffle. Given the vast roster, we are unable to see wrestlers every week. One week we see a story and the following week we do not see the continuity. More than once, the commentators have to refresh our memory. Thus, if White is smart, his involvement with AEW will be very limited.
