Despite this, the British female star went down on her knees and proposed to The Mexican Prodigy later that year in front of fans.
As Alberto acknowledged her proposal with a yes,” they were engaged-to-be-married, but things took an unexpected turn, and the duo separated in 2017. Even though initially the 46-year-old said their breakup to be a mutual decision, due to their declining involvement with each other. The 5-foot-8 female star said, “It’s like it’s up to six, seven hours a day; you’re literally trapped in a certain room and getting your a** beat every couple of minutes.” But the Mexico native later denied the claims and told TMZ Sports that it was the other way around. Rio accused his former girlfriend of being the aggressor. “I have the evidence. Not just words.,” he added while claiming that he was the true victim.
Alberto Del Rio threatened to expose Paige in 2021
After this exchange of words through interviews in 2020, the former WWE star sent a warning to the England-born female pro wrestler in July 2021. The 6-foot-5 claimed that he and Paige had a $1 million confidentiality agreement to safeguard his interests and future.
In fact, he admitted that the two of them lied about the domestic violence incidents so that they could protect their jobs. Moreover, he threatened to expose the AEW performer by digging out into the reality of the fake stories they previously told to the media.
As both of them kept hitting each other over the years, it took them a very long time to end this public quarrel. But at last, the pro wrestling stars eventually moved on from the toxic relationship.
