WWE’s Clash at the Castle PLE started strong in Glasgow, Scotland with a massive title match to start the event. The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Title against the Phenomenal One AJ Styles in an ‘I Quit’ match. The crowd was pretty hyped up to see the veterans perform and indicated their interest during the stars’ entrances.
Both the veterans crossed paths before in Lyon, France which showcased how good both of them are. Styles did everything in his power to defeat the American Nightmare. Fans were convinced that it was Styles’ last attempt to win the coveted title and he would not be involved in the title picture again. Rhodes also faced Logan Paul during this time further solidifying his title reign.
After his previous setback, Styles proved to the WWE Universe that he was not getting away so easily. He made a fake retirement plan to set up another title match with the Undisputed WWE Champion. Similar to their previous clash at Backlash in Lyon, France, the two veterans put up another instant classic in front of the fans.

The crowd was behind Rhodes throughout the match with their constant chant of his name. It didn’t take much time for both veterans to venture into the backstage area to defeat one another. Cody was also busted open during the match adding more brutality to their bout. The Phenomenal One even used a belt to lash out at Rhodes.

This gave everyone a little flashback of The Rock doing the same thing with Rhodes during their WrestleMania rivalry. Styles also tied the rope around Cody’s head showcasing his bloodied head. The Phenomenal One further went on to handcuff Rhodes and confront his mother at ringside. Things escalated quickly as Rhodes’s mother slapped AJ a couple of times fueling Styles’s anger.

As things took a turn after Rhodes’s mother got involved, Styles was in the backseat with a couple of jabs from Rhodes. Cody then handcuffed Styles to the rope and unleashed heavy chair shots just like Styles did. The American Nightmare then proceeded to get the steel steps to pour more damage.
As he prepared to hit the steel steps to a handcuffed Styles, The Phenomenal One had enough and yelled ‘I Quit’ ending the match in the process. As fans celebrated Rhodes’ other dominant win, it was a huge question in front of fans as to where will Styles lead from here. Being his last chance at the title, AJ might appear for TNA as fans are hyped up to see the former TNA veteran appear in the promotion again.
As Rhodes looked to celebrate his victory in style, Solo Sikoa was waiting for him in front of the titantron. It was then followed by an attack from Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. The attack turned into a brawl after Randy Orton and Kevin Owens evened up Cody’s side. It is anyone’s guess as to where the rivalry will go from here as the Bloodline is getting close to Cody once again for another cinematic storyline.
