Ali Abdelaziz once tweeted that if Kayla Harrison ever loses he will leave MMA. Harrison was then on her 15-fight win run, which led her agent to make the absurd claim. But now Harrison has lost for the first time in her career against Larissa Pacheco in a huge upset.
Abdelaziz often engages in occasional Twitter controversies. Looking at Harrison’s incredible win run, he tweeted: “If she ever lose I will leave Mma she cannot be touched”.

However now that the two-time Olympic gold medalist has lost for the first time in her MMA career, many are wondering if Abdelaziz will keep his promise. The comment section is swarming with comments made by the fight fans urging Ali to retire.
One user said: “Do us a favor and please do.” Another left a comment: “Ali are you a man of your word?” Some fans are also joking that Harrison lost on purpose to make Abdelaziz hold to his promise: “She must have lost on purp, ose. Cheers love. From all of us.”
Someone stated: “Thank you Kayla,” while another fight fan commented: “If so, it’ll be Kayla’s greatest contribution to the game thus far!” Another user left a comment: “Ali about time you left the mma community.”
Ali is the founder of Dominance MMA Management and a well-known figure in the MMA circle. Apart from Harrison and others, he manages former UFC champions like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Kamaru Usman, Justin Gaethje, and Henry Cejudo.
Kayla Harrison suffers her first MMA loss
Going into the trilogy bout against Pacheco, Kayla Harrison was a massive favorite. The two-time Olympic gold medalist almost became invincible with her consecutive victories in the promotion. She won the previous two fights against Pacheco, but now she came up short to win a third PFL belt.
Many believed Harrison was overrated and this is a significant defeat in her professional career. As per the reports, Harrison will not compete in the next year’s season but she is still under contract for the promotion.
Harrison was also seen as someone who could be successful in other major fighting promotions and she was previously thought to fight former UFC and current Bellator champion Cris Cyborg. However, no official statement has been made so far and Harrison hopes to participate in the PFL’s inaugural super-fight league.
On the other hand, Larissa Pacheco has avenged her previous decision losses against Harrison at the 2022 PFL World Championship. This event was attended by famous UFC personalities such as Georges St-Pierre, Khamzat Chimaev, Henry Cejudo, and Aljamain Sterling.
