The Atlanta Hawks Want Giannis To Pay For His Free Throw Ritual
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the face of memes and a lot of conversations not for his shooting or defence but for his free throw ritual. Every time Giannis steps to the free-throw line he tends to take a minimum of ten seconds to make a shot. He has a free throw warm-up routine that has got on the nerves of many players in the opposition teams. In game 1 against the Hawks took 11.5 seconds and 13.3 seconds for his free throw shots. The referees however turned a blind eye to this. The Hawks may have won game 1 but they definitely want the officials to take a look into this.
The Bucks head coach, Mike Budenholzer made a statement about this time consuming free-throw routine. He defended his player’s routine and said that even though it’s becoming a huge conversation, Giannis is doing everything to make sure he doesn’t miss the free throw freebies.
He’s got his routine. It’s been a big topic of conversation, I get it, I understand it. I think he’s in a good place, I always say we want him at the free-throw line, we want him attacking. The more he gets there the better, this conversation has been going on for a long time and he’s well aware and in a good place

The Hawks are not the first team to call Giannis out for his free throw routine. When the Bucks went up against the Brooklyn Nets, James Harden could not stand how long Giannis took to make a shot.
The Brooklyn Fans were just as annoyed as Harden. Instead of reacting with frustration, the Nets fans decided to troll the routine every time Giannis came to the Free-Throw line.
