LeBron James made history tonight in LA Lakers vs Portland Trailblazers breaking multiple playoff records in NBA history and Lakers franchise history. Making his 375th 3-pointer in Game 3 last night, LeBron crossed Golden State Warriors’ All-star Klay Thompson. In addition, he passed Tim Duncan in all-time wins in playoffs moving up to no. 2 on the list.
Losing Game 1 to Portland Trail Blazers was a huge blow to LeBron and Lakers’ reputation. Moreover, a first-round exit to the 8th seed would be embarrassing for a superteam like the LA Lakers. Consequently, they got their act together in Game 2 with a blowout victory over Trail Blazers. Anthony Davis could not find his shot in the first half of Game 3 on Saturday night, however, he took a 180-degree turn in the second half to ensure the W.
LeBron changed the pass-first approach he had in Game 1&2 to facilitate the LA Lakers in Game 3 which was otherwise being dominated by Portland Trailblazers. Although not known for his shooting, he made 4 three-pointers at 50% efficiency to rank no. 3 of All-Time 3s made in playoffs. As a result, Klay Thompson poked fun at LeBron in the comments section of a post honoring him.

LeBron James believes Klay Thompson will cross him in 2021 playoffs
Klay Thompson has amassed respect from the league for his sharpshooting and two-way skills to help the Golden State Warriors in 5 title runs. This 3-time NBA champion has made a name for himself despite being teammates with possibly the greatest shooter in NBA history, Stephen Curry.
Klay Thompson has been in Team LeBron in the All-Star game several times and was a part of Space Jam 2 as well. When James crossed him on All-time 3s made list, Klay reacted to his achievement with a funny comment on NBA’s Instagram post.
“Dang don’t do me like that @kingjames !! ????”

Klay Thompson and LeBron James faced in each other in NBA Finals for 4 consecutive years out of which the Golden State Warriors won 3 championships. Klay has had some big plays against LeBron’s old team the Cleveland Cavaliers to help dub nation in the finals. He ranks #18 on the all-time 3 PM list and previously ranked #3 in playoffs in just 7 postseason appearances compared to LeBron’s 17.
In response to Klay’s comment, LeBron said,
“@klaythompson I have a strong hunch that you’ll pass me right back in 2021 playoffs”
We are all aware of Klay’s greatness as a shooter and LeBron didn’t shy away from that even though they have been arch-rivals for the past 5 years. ACL injury sidelined Klay Thompson in 2018-19 NBA Finals against Toronto Raptors and was the sole reason behind Golden State Warriors’ defeat. Currently, he is rehabbing post-surgery and is expected to make a comeback when the 2020-21 season starts.
