Tyson Fury is WBC heavyweight champion and arguably the best P4P boxer on the planet right now. As such, his life and his rise to stardom are well-known to many by now. Similarly, many are familiar with his father John Fury, however, very little is known of his mother. Let’s try and find out more.
Recently, fans were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at Tyson’s life in Netflix’s docu-series called, At Home With the Furys. Whilst Tyson’s wife, children, brothers, and father could all be seen, the only exception was his mother. As a result, it led many to wonder about the whereabouts of The Gypsy King’s mother.

On August 12, 1988, Tyson was born to John Fury and Amber Fury. Whilst John was a renowned bare-knuckle fighter and professional boxer, little was known of his wife, Amber. For the most part, Amber has been known to lead a rather private lifestyle. Moreover, John and Amber have also been separated for a long time now.
Previously, the couple called it quits following the death of their daughter Ramona Fury in 1997. Moreover, it is said that during their marriage, Amber had 14 pregnancies out of which only four of their children survived. Thus, it is expected to have taken a toll on the marriage and one of the key reasons for the split.
Do Tyson Fury and Tommy Fury have the same mother?
Many have often wondered as to whether Tyson and Tommy Fury have the same mother. Whilst they have the same father, Tyson and Tommy are in fact, half-brothers. As such, it means that though they share the same father, both of them were born to different mothers.
Following John Fury’s split with Amber, he got into a relationship with Chantal. A woman of Mauritian descent, John and Chantal revealed that they were pregnant very early on in their relationship. As such, the two decided to get married shortly afterward and have been together ever since. Interestingly however, apart from Tyson, Tommy Fury is said to have four more half-brothers, namely Roman, Tyson, Shane, and John Jr., who all have different mothers.
As for The Gypsy King himself, he is still very close to his mother. As mentioned previously, Amber prefers to stay out of the limelight and has never attended any of his son’s fights. Moreover, Amber was not aware of Tyson being famous at all. Traveling around Manchester with her son, she cut a rather confused figure when the 35-year-old was stopped by fans for pictures and autographs.
On October 28, 2023, Tyson Fury took on former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. While all the members of the Fury family was there supporting ‘The Gypsy King’, His mother was absent from the event as well.
Thus, Tyson explained to his mother that he was the lineal heavyweight boxing champion of the world. Similarly, Tyson often brings up his mother during interviews and regularly gives her a mention. Even ahead of his fight against Francis Ngannou, Tyson revealed that his mother would be very proud to see him on the big TV screens.
