Ryan Garcia (23-1) suffered his first career loss at the hands of the Floyd Mayweather protege, Gervonta Davis (29-0). Although he is facing a lot of abuse online, Ryan seems to have found unlikely support from none other than one of the most controversial men on the planet, Andrew Tate. Tate is currently under house arrest after spending over 90 days in detention at a Romanian prison.
While many know Andrew for his misogynistic and controversial claims about women, not many are aware of his time as a 4-time kickboxing champion. There are also videos of him knocking out his opponents both in the kickboxing ring and in an MMA cage. Not just Andrew, his brother Tristan is also a former kickboxer himself. So there is no doubt that Andrew has a lot of knowledge regarding fighting. Hence, his support for Garcia is significant.
Andrew Tate and Conor McGregor stand up for Ryan Garcia after his loss to Gervonta Davis
The bout between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis was certainly a close one till it lasted. Ryan’s speed was certainly a big issue for Davis, who often found himself getting clipped by KingRy’s sneaky shots. However, Gervonta’s power had the last laugh as he knocked Garcia down with a massive punch right at the end of round 2. Following that, Ryan was hesitant to let his hands go.
While the 24-year-old did land some good punches here and there, it was Gervonta who was winning on judges’ scorecards. However, Garcia took a chance and went after Davis in the 7th round of the bout. While the first knockdown was due to a power punch, the fight-ending blow was just a well-timed body punch that landed on Garcia’s liver.
While Garcia did not react to the punch initially, he went down on a knee moments later and could not answer the referee’s count. After the bout, the controversial life guru Andrew Tate took to Twitter and defended Garcia against the critics online. He respected Ryan’s willingness to accept a nightmare match-up in the form of Tank Davis, who is one of the most powerful punchers in the lightweight division.
Any twitter account I see mocking Ryan Garcia is getting blocked.
Unless youve been in the ring yourself, you are not qualified to say a WORD.
Always a coward who has so much to say from outside the gladiator pit.
The worst types of people.

But not just Andrew Tate, Garcia received words of encouragement from former UFC double champ Conor McGregor as well. McGregor, who is scheduled to fight Michael Chandler later in 2023, went into Garcia’s locker room and cheered him up. So it will certainly provide Ryan the confidence he needs after suffering the first loss of his pro boxing career.
Conor said, “He’s 1-0 on you, you’re the two biggest names in the division, I want to see it again. I want to see it again now, and I want to see it with no rehydration clause. Seriously… All the respect in the world to you. You’re the future, you’re the future of this game, and I’m watching you all the way.” (h/t via MMA Fighting)
