There is bad news for fans of Amanda Serrano, who was scheduled to fight Nina Meinke in a title fight tonight. Amanda Serrano is the most accomplished boxer under MVP’s banner, a promotion founded by Jake Paul.
We have seen Amanda Serrano share the spotlight with Jake Paul before. And MVP planned something similar tonight, where Serrano was scheduled to defend her title in Jake Paul vs. Ryan Bourland’s main card.

However, just minutes before her title fight, Amanda Serrano vs. Nina Meinke was canceled because of an eye injury. The 7 weight boxing champion suffered an eye injury on Friday. The Puerto Rican Boxing Commission did not allow Serrano to compete after examining the injury.
MVP’s statement on Amanda Serrano’s eye injury
The Spokesperson for Most Valuable Promotion (MVP) issued a statement after the fight cancellation and stated:
“She is devastated that she won’t be able to perform in front of her hometown fans, but despite warning to go and out on a shoe, the Commission said there is no way she can fight with her eye in its current condition.”
To understand how bad I feel for what happened Myself & my team @jakepaul & @MostVpromotions are giving my opponent @ninathebrave 100% of her purse when the commission requires 50% & to my beautiful Island Every single person will get a full money return.
We are grateful &…— Amanda Serrano (@Serranosisters) March 3, 2024
MVP also assured Nina Meinke that she would receive her fight purse in full even after the cancellation of the title fight. This move from MVP and Jake Paul is certainly commendable considering the current landscape in combat sports, where many fighters are unhappy with their fight purses.
Amanda Serrano also apologized to fans for pulling out of the fight at the last minute. But she is certainly proud of how Jake Paul and other MVP fighters performed on the card.
Jared Gordon takes a brutal dig at Amanda Serrano
Many fans showed their support for Amanda Serrano after her fight was canceled. However, UFC star Jared Gordon, who had an ugly history with the boxing champion, did not show her any mercy on Twitter.
Back in 2018, Amanda Serrano once mocked Jared Gordon over his recovery from drug addiction. They also got into a nasty Twitter battle over Serrano’s claims of grappling for 6 hours a day.
Jared Gordon seemingly has not moved on from their feud, as he insulted Amanda Serrano after her eye injury. Gordon tweeted:
“One time Serrano tweeted she grappled for 8 hours in one day. I said thats impossible, she then proceeded to call me a junkie, which is true… but shes also a fuckin terrible liar. Maybe her warm up was 8 hours and now shes too tired to fight”

Amanda Serrano still has not responded to Jared Gordon. But, it’s certainly an ugly spot for the female boxing champion, as she is devastated after the cancellation of her bout.
On the other hand, Jared Gordon has been able to make an impressive comeback in UFC and has won multiple fights ever since his recovery. Since the feud with Serrano, Jared Gordon’s record is 7 wins, 5 losses, and 1 no contest. His most high-profile fight against Paddy Pimblett made him a fan favorite, as many believe he did enough to win the fight.
