Former 4-time kickboxing champion and controversial self-help guru, Andrew Tate, shares very exciting news for his fans. Tate has been locked up since December 29, 2022, in a jail in Romania. The influencer has almost completed 90 days of detention and is desperate to be let out of imprisonment. If Tate’s Twitter feed is anything to go by, then it does seem like that day is not far away.
As previously reported, Andrew’s detention was extended till the end of March. As the end of the month fast approaches, there is a growing hope that Tate may finally find himself freed from prison. On March 29, 2023, there was a court hearing which saw the Bucharest court deny Andrew and Tristan’s appeal to be put under house arrest. But, the hearing was for the appeal the Tate brothers made on March 15.
There is set to be a second hearing on Friday, March 31, where the judge will consider an appeal from the Tate brothers against DIICOT’s decision to ask for another 30 days of detention. It is a very significant update and Andrew feels positive. His social media team put out an optimistic tweet, which read, “Friday, InshaAllah,” referring to the upcoming hearing.
Will Andrew Tate be released from prison soon?
Top G is a very divisive character amongst the population. It is certainly understandable as many consider his messages and worldviews to be misogynistic. His back-and-forth with Greta Thunberg was also very polarizing as many opposed the way he interacted with the climate activist. But, to his fans, Andrew Tate is an unmitigated hero and needs to be protected at all costs.
The 36-year-old has convinced the fans that he is being attacked by “the matrix.” Hence, his fans have campaigned for the Romanian authorities to free their hero many times over the past three months. But their hopes were crushed many times as the court denied his release about 5-times so far. After the court decided to extend Tate’s detention till the end of March, Tate’s lawyer labeled the decision “illegal.”
But, thanks to his American citizenship, Tate’s US attorney, Tina Glandian, revealed the USA Embassy in Romania is keeping tabs on the case. There is a possibility that the government intervenes in the matter and decides to bring Tate to American soil for another trial. But there is another way for Andrew Tate to be released and it is by completing 180 days of detention.
As per Romanian law, a person can not be in detention held for over 180 days if there is not any conclusive evidence of the charges. Tate’s lawyer previously revealed that his client was facing charges of r*pe, human trafficking, and organized crime. Along with Andrew, his brother Tristan Tate, and Tate’s angels Luana Radu and Georgiana Naghel were also arrested after two women accused the detainees of keeping them without their will.
However, since their arrest, there have been conflicting reports about the women allegedly trying to frame the Tate brothers. Both Tate’s lawyers repeatedly insisted that Andrew and Tristan are being held without evidence. If that is indeed the case, the Romanian authorities will be forced to release Andrew after 180 days of detention. If there is not enough evidence to take the case to trial, then the Tate brothers may walk as per the country’s law.
