Ahmed states, “According to the judicial documents, there’s not enough evidence to prosecute or convict. So right now, the entire basis of evidence is just a remand while they look for more information”. Further, the journalist reveals how Tate’s legal team is being kept in the dark. “You’ve got a scenario where the legal documents were not given to Tate’s team until 45 minutes before the hearing.”
As such, Sulaiman Ahmed also spoke about the alleged charges and inadequate evidence against the Tates. However, he believes that the Romanian judiciary has already made up its mind and will prosecute, regardless of the evidence. Thus, the accumulation of charges could see Andrew and Co. locked behind bars for up to 15 years.
Latest update from Andrew Tate’s Team over his potential release from prison
Notably, we heard Sulaiman stating that Tate’s legal team was only given a day to go through 17,000 pages of documents prior to the next hearing. Additionally, he also said that the authorities refused to let their lawyer, Tina Glandian from seeing the Tates in custody.
Despite this, Tina has been working tirelessly and has given an update on the situation herself. In terms of a potential release from prison, Tina says, “We’re going to find out in the next several days. The existing order expires on February 27th, and if the prosecution intends to extend that for another 30 day period, they’ll have to make that request soon and then we’ll have a hearing on it.”
However, like Sulaiman Ahmed, Tina is also not very optimistic about the Tates’ immediate release. According to her, the $4 million in seized assets have given the authorities a further incentive to look for evidence. As such, they will reportedly be looking to keep hold of the assets and try to prove that they were acquired illegally.
Recently, we also saw wiretap leaks, suggesting that Tate may have been framed. Moreover, the Romanian authorities have apparently been well aware of these reportedly false claims from the victims and have still used them as evidence against Andrew Tate. With another hearing set to take place soon, it will be interesting to see which direction the case goes in next.
