It is difficult to decipher who is telling the truth and who is making up their version of the story. However, Ryan Garcia has done us all a favor and leaked the video. In the video, Davis was seen dominating Haney, who responded to the leak. However, according to fans, Tank’s performance was exaggerated. One fan wrote, “Tank a dog, but I expected to see ko’d standing up like they made it seem. The stories were exaggerated.”
Another fan asked, “But who won?” Implying that there was no knockout. Before leaking the video, Garcia mentioned it several times.
Ryan Garcia mentioned the Davis vs. Haney sparring footage to create buzz for his fight
Ryan Garcia is set to take on Devin Haney for the WBC Super Lightweight Title in New York on April 20, 2024. To build up his fight with Haney and earn a mental advantage, Garcia has brought up the sparring footage multiple times.
Just a day after the fight was announced in early February, Garcia and Haney squared up and started trash-talking. It involved Garcia bringing up Haney’s father and the sparring session.

In the video shared by Garcia himself, he is heard saying, “We’ve seen that video when Tank beat your ass, Floyd showed me and he had your ass like… I’ve seen the video, I’ve seen the video, I’ve seen the video.”
Haney responded: “I’d beat the s*** out of Tank and I’d beat the s*** out of you, I’d beat the s*** out of you.”
Recently, during his appearance on The MMA Hour, Garcia was asked about his relationship with Floyd Mayweather. He said Mayweather might be unhappy because he talked about the sparring video. Further, he explained what he saw, “I [have] personally seen the video [of] Devin Haney. [He] is knocked out almost cold by ‘Tank’ Davis. I [have] seen it with my own eyes. Adrien Broner did hop in the ring.”
Garcia, who has faced his only professional defeat against Davis, acknowledged that Haney was a teenager during the fight. However, he was cutting ‘The Dream’ no slack.
Bill Haney fumes at Floyd Mayweather while exposing his sparring story against Devin Haney
Bill Haney was not impressed with Mayweather showing the footage to Garcia. Instead, Bill took it upon himself to remind ‘Money’ about his sparring session with Devin. According to Bill, Devin went 6-0 against Mayweather in their sparring sessions before the Conor McGregor fight. Bill claimed this was “when he [Mayweather] finally decided that he could no longer be in there boxing with no real fighters.”

Bill further proclaimed the Devin Haney era stating, “Devin was the one that snapped that. He knew that the torch had to be passed and he passed it to Devin. It’s the new era. It’s the Devin Haney era and that’s what it is.”
Recently, Haney and Garcia even gave a religious angle to their fight which left fans unimpressed. With less than two months left for their highly-anticipated bout, the pair are working hard inside and outside the ring to make sure it is all a success.
