Evander Holyfield will return to the boxing ring after a decade as he faces former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort in an eight-round boxing match this weekend. Moreover, this fight will take place in the main event of Triller Fight Club Legends part two event in Hollywood.
However, the Prodigy was not supposed to feature in the main event in the first place because Oscar De La Hoya was Belfort’s opponent. But the Mexican fighter had to back out from the fight after suffering from the coronavirus. As a result, the former boxing heavyweight champion accepted this fight on short notice.
Therefore several fans are excited for this main event contest because Evander Holyfield is coming out of retirement to face the UFC veteran Vitor Belfort. Although, there are some boxing fans and analysts that have reacted harshly and have condemned the Triller event.
Similarly, following Evander’s media workout, many people were concerned regarding his old age on social media. Consequently, an interviewer raised a question and asked the Real Deal to give his thoughts on the negative reaction from the crowd.
Evander Holyfield believes that all the noise outside is irrelevant ahead of fight night. “Okay well, the thing is that I have more experience in boxing but and the fact that it matters. You know I would have a problem if I was going to do the MMA with him because that ain’t what I do. But I know that I do boxing and I took care of myself real well.”
Does Evander Holyfield stand a chance to win against Vitor Belfort?
Evander Holyfield is very confident about his chances against Vitor Belfort on September 9. He believes that he has much more to offer in this main event clash. However, age would be a big concern for the Real Deal against the Phenom. Moreover, Holyfield is past his prime and the media workout was an example of this fact.
He didn’t look very sharp and powerful like he used to during his prime. Although he still has a chance to win this fight due to his experience and physical advantage over Belfort. In the end, this event has the potential to be very exciting and it would be fascinating to watch all the legends battle it out against each other.
So who do you think will come out on top in this matchup between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort?
