Jake Paul is back in the winning column after his fight with Nate Diaz, last weekend. The Problem Child was coming off a loss to Tommy Fury, who was the first legitimate professional boxer Jake fought. Paul had a lot on his mind going into the fight and even thoughts of potential retirement after a possible loss.
However, Jake Paul went on and fought Diaz for 10 rounds, to be hailed as the winner by the end. Yet, during his interview on his podcast, Jake Paul revealed the Stockton legend had him worried from the first round itself.
Paul took an aggressive approach early on in the fight and connected with good shots. The whole arena roared as Jake appeared to have almost knock down Nate Diaz with his flurry of punches. However, the 38-year-old is known for having relentless cardio and his ability to take punishment.
Despite eating some clean strikes from Paul, Diaz was on his feet, which certainly concerned The Problem Child. “I don’t know how the f*** he survived the first round. I was like yeah it’s gonna be a first-round knockout, Sports Center here I come and then he just doesn’t go down,” said Paul.
While a lot of Nate Diaz fans expected him to pull through the beating, Jake Paul was a bit demoralized. “I just punched a lot, I got nine more rounds,” added Paul during his interview.
Regardless, Jake ended up with a massive unanimous decision win and declared to the world that he is back. Apart from putting on a good show, both fighters also managed to walk away with a lot of money in one night.
Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz: How much did both fighters earn for their boxing match
Jake Paul has declared to the world that he is back after his dominant win over Nate Diaz. While Paul was not able to finish the Stockton legend as he expected, he pulled through with a massive unanimous decision win. He also dropped Nate in the fifth round which is a praise-worthy feat.
Characteristically, Nate Diaz did not appear as sharp in the earlier rounds of the bout. However, as the match progressed, Nate kept on getting better and his relentless cardio astonished the crowd. Regardless of the results, both fighters managed to walk out with a huge chunk of money for sharing 10 rounds in the ring.
While their purses are not confirmed, Jake Paul netted the most money with an estimated $ 2 million guaranteed pay. He would also receive a bonus for his win and a cut from the PPV which would make his purse exponentially higher. This might be less compared to his last fight with Tommy Fury as Paul stated he had earned around $30 million in total fight purse.

Meanwhile, Nate Diaz took home a guaranteed pay of $500,000. Diaz will also receive 50% of the PPV split, which will easily net him 7 figures. Nate will also have a chance to earn significantly more if he accepts the $10 million offer to fight Paul in MMA.
That said, Paul will now have to wait for the Stockton native to make his choice. Diaz has revealed his desire to make his return to the UFC, which would prove to be a hindrance. However, Paul might also reach out to Tommy Fury for a rematch if Nate Diaz is unavailable.
