Floyd Mayweather may well be one of the best boxers to have ever graced the sport. Whilst his fighting days, at least professionally, are over, he tends to step in for an amateur bout occasionally. However, this has not stopped him from splurging on expensive things.
Recently, Floyd seemingly added yet another expensive item to his collection. Coming in to support his former protege and client, Mayweather was at the T-Mobile arena to watch Gervonta Davis take on Ryan Garcia. Although he is no longer directly working with Davis, Floyd had been helping him get in shape for the fight.
As always, Floyd turned up to the occasion with a lot of bling on him. Whilst the numerous chains on his neck were certainly noticeable, the star of the show was his brand-new hat. As such, Floyd was sporting an “invisible diamond” hat, reportedly worth $1 million, according to its creator Shuki Diamonds. Moreover, Floyd’s jeweler explained the whole process behind the creation of the hat and its composition.
Interestingly, Floyd recently took to his Instagram story to talk about the same. Whilst Shuki insisted that he offered the hat to Floyd as a gift, the boxer had something else to say. “I don’t know who started the rumor that my hat was a million dollars but it was 30k.” The hat, which has the TMT (The Money Team) initials on it is supposedly one in a million.
Some of the most bizarrely expensive things Floyd Mayweather owns
By now it is common knowledge that Floyd is easily one of the wealthiest athletes on the planet. According to sources, Floyd sports a net worth of $450 million in 2023. Thus, it only makes sense that his nickname is “Money”. Whilst Floyd has shown on numerous occasions, his fleet of luxury cars and private jets, many have often wondered what else Floyd spends his money on.
As such, let’s take a look at some of the most bizarre things that Floyd Mayweather splurges on.
1. iPod Case ($50,000)
Yes, you read that right. Floyd had a custom iPod case made for him to keep his iPod in whilst traveling. Whilst the case itself is worth more money than some people see in their entire lifetime, it also has a chain to top it all off.
Taking to Twitter in 2010, Mayweather showed off this absurd purchase. Obviously, the case is stacked with diamonds, owing to its $50,000 valuation. Although it might not be a practical purchase, Floyd has flaunted the case on numerous occasions.
2. The Billionaire Watch ($18 million)
Next on the list has to be one of the most ridiculous things you’ve probably ever seen. Although Floyd has been known to have a collection of some of the most expensive watches on the planet, this one in particular stands above the rest. During his trip to Japan, Floyd copped “The Billionaire Watch” for a mind-boggling $18 million.

Notably, the watch, designed by Jacob & Co. is a 280-carat diamond watch. Additionally, it is a one of its kind timepiece made up of 167 different components.
3. Haircut ($1,000)
So get this, Floyd spends $1000 on every single haircut. Every. Single. One. Whilst it is understandable that Floyd wants to stay fresh and look good, it becomes less understandable when you realize that he has a clean-shaven head.

According to an interview with TMZ in 2016, Floyd revealed that he has employed the services of Jackie Starr and Iced Out Barber Shop. Thus, a haircut, which takes up to 45 minutes, costs $1000 each time. Unreal.
4. Tickets to his own fight ($605,000)
In 2013, Floyd took on Canelo Alvarez in one of the biggest super fights in Boxing history. Taking place in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, it was definitely a fight for the ages. Now, Floyd has done some pretty ridiculous things but buying nearly 300 tickets for his own fights is surely up there.
Spending more than half a million in the process, Floyd ensured that all his people had the best seats in the house on the night. As it turned out, Floyd would go on to win his fight, making more than $40 million in the process. Thus, purchasing those tickets probably didn’t bother him at all.
5. New sneakers and underwear, EVERY DAY
Perhaps the most puzzling one of them all, Floyd has a policy of not wearing the same underwear twice. According to numerous sources, the 46-year-old is adamant to wear new briefs every day. As such, Floyd spends a solid $6,500 per year just to stay and feel fresh every day.
Similarly, Floyd has developed a habit of discarding his sneakers and trainers after just one wear. Considering the astronomical amounts that some sneakers are resold for these days, it seems like a luxury only he has. Additionally, there have been cases where Floyd has just left things behind in hotel rooms, presumably for any lucky cleaner that happens to come across them.
