Tyson Fury is just coming off a tough victory over MMA star Francis Ngannou. The British boxer has now extended his undefeated streak to 34-0-1. However, his performance was an embarrassing one. This performance against Ngannou can spoil the hype of his fight against a formidable Oleksandr Usyk, who is waiting to break this streak apart.
Usyk is the current WBA, WBO, and IBF Heavyweight Champion, while ‘The Gypsy King’ holds the WBC Heavyweight Championship. This match will crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. Furthermore, the contract for this fight was already signed before the match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.

The highly anticipated clash is expected to take place on December 23, 2023, in Riyadh, but the date is yet to be confirmed. After Fury‘s post-fight interview, Oleksandr Usyk made his way to the ring to have a face-off for their match. When the reporter asked about December 23, 2023, being the exact date, both fighters were in agreement.
However, promoter Frank Warren was hesitant to confirm the exact date for this fight. “Tyson’s got a cut there, so it’s no good saying the date whilst he’s got a cut on his head,” said Warren. He then confirmed that the fight between Fury and Usyk is on and will take place amidst the Riyadh season.

It looks like ‘The Predator’ has spoiled the party for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk with his stellar performance. Furthermore, getting dropped by a boxer making his debut is very embarrassing for a boxing champion. Even Usyk was surprised by Tyson’s performance against Ngannou.
This epic fight was originally scheduled to take place in March 2023, but according to Oleksandr Usyk, Fury’s team was delaying the match. However, Tyson claimed that the delay was due to Usyk’s team trying to add a rematch clause to the match. Furthermore, Usyk denied these claims and said that he doesn’t want to play Fury’s stupid games.
Oleksandr Usyk feels that Tyson Fury was playing possum against Francis Ngannou
When a reporter asked the undefeated Ukrainian about Tyson Fury’s performance against ‘The Predator’, he had a unique take on the situation. “I had an impression that he (Fury) was playing,” said the 21-0 fighter. Furthermore, he feels that the skills of Ngannou might have surprised his rival, leading to a lackluster performance.
“Maybe Tyson Fury didn’t take it seriously,” said Usyk. However, he promised that he would be training at his 100%, and it did not matter if ‘The Gypsy King’ was playing possum or not. Furthermore, Usyk admitted that he was very shocked by the knockdown scored by Francis.
