There could be a huge twist in the highly anticipated heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte after promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that The Gypsy King won’t accept the fight. This might come as a huge shocker to many who were expecting a announcement after Frank Warren won the fight bid for a record $41 million last week.
In a recent interview with IFL TV, Eddie Hearn shared his thoughts regarding losing the bid for the Fury vs Whyte fight and also discussed several other topics. During this conversation, Hearn revealed that he has not received any contract from Fury’s team and the deadline for signing the contract is February 21st.
The British promoter also explained why he is not posting about the matchup on social media and conveyed his doubts about Fury not taking the fight.

“I don’t believe in my heart of hearts, I don’t know whether Tyson Fury takes this fight. That’s honestly what I believe. Because all the stuff that we went through the Usyk fight, he’d do this he’d that. You see one thing but behind the scenes, you pulled that.”
Eddie Hearn reveals that the fight purse split is not 80%-20%
Dillian Whyte was unhappy with the purse split and that was one of the main reasons why the fight purse bid broke down thrice. It seems that the British contender is still unhappy with his share. During an interview with IFL TV, Eddie Hearn explained the breakdown of the fight purse split and also revealed that they are working for a new deal.
By the way, it’s not 80-20. It’s 10% for the winner and 80-20 for the rest of the 90%. If Dillian White wins the fight he makes 12 million and if not he makes 8 million. We’re still working on the situation about the 80-20 split. “
Tyson Fury slams Eddie Hearn and calls him a clown

It is needless to say that this entire situation is a mess considering the time it is taking for the announcement of this title bout. However, as per a recent report by Mauricio Sulaiman, WBC has received a 10% deposit as per the rules. Now it is up to both parties to come to an agreement and sign the contract before the deadline.
