Jake Paul has developed a persona on the internet where he acts like a villain and performs crazy antics like taking Floyd Mayweather’s hat off in a media event and does many similar things. Subsequently, this has led many fight fans to develop hatred against him. As a consequence, he justifies his moniker the Problem Child.
However, these antics certainly bring a lot of eyes towards Jake as many fans want to see his opponents knock him out in the boxing ring. Therefore in the buildup of his fight against Tyron Woodley, Jake Paul’s mother has expressed her concern about people negatively perceiving her son.
She shared her thoughts during the All Access: Paul vs Woodley episode on YouTube by Showtime sports. “That bothers me because I don’t think he wants that to be his legacy, to be hated. It’s a role. It’s like acting in a movie. And that’s how I kind of consider it. And it can be uncomfortable as a mom.”
Jake’s mother also mentioned that “I think he wants to turn that hate against Jake Paul, he wants to prove people wrong and eventually get there and be admired and I think he will.” Therefore it is needless to say that Pamela Ann Stepnick who is the mother of Jake Paul has complete trust in her son’s abilities and wants him to prove the entire world wrong.
Jake Paul believes that he is purposely misunderstood by people
Jake Paul speaks about people having a negative perception of him during the All Access: Paul vs Woodley video. “I think I’m looked at as the villain, but I don’t care about people’s perception of me. I’m purposely misunderstood. Like, I lean into it. I think that’s what people want to see me knocked out.”
Hence the Problem Child is aware of this fact and he uses this to his advantage. He acts as a villain to bring more eyes to his boxing bouts and it is a great marketing strategy. Owing to the fact, that millions of fight fans tune in to watch him fight as they are excited to watch the outcome of his bout.
