British YouTuber KSI just extended his unbeaten win streak against professional boxer Joe Fournier. While KSI had beaten fighters previously, Fournier was an unbeaten professional boxer with a 9-0 record. Hence, many doubted whether the celebrity boxer can get the job done or not. While Olajide “JJ” Olatunji got the KO win, the replays showed foul play!

The MF & DAZN: X Series 007 event went down inside the OVO Arena in London. JJ’s brother, Deji, who was also on the card, defeated Swarmz via unanimous decision. But, all the eyes were on the main event and KSI got the stoppage win at the 1:25 minute mark of round 2. Upon first glance, it seemed like KSI managed to land a beautiful right hook.

However, once the replays started playing, it was evident that it was Olatunji’s elbow that caught Fournier’s chin. Needless to say, it is an illegal move as using elbows is not allowed in boxing.

It sent the fans into a frenzy and many asked for the win to be overturned. Jake Paul, who is perhaps the most famous YouTuber-turned-boxer at the moment, also took to Twitter and had his say on the matter. Unlike Logan Paul, KSI does not share the same level of warmth with Jake. As a matter of fact, JJ has been angling for a fight against “The Problem Child” for a while now. KSI even trolled Jake after the latter’s first pro loss against Tommy Fury.

Hence, Paul did not miss the chance to clap back at KSI after the recently concluded bout against Joe Fournier. He tweeted, “I respect boxing too much to respect what that was. If that was indeed a real boxing match it will be ruled a no contest or disqualification.”

Jake himself has a fight coming up against former UFC fighter and superstar, Nate Diaz. The bout takes place on August 5, in Dallas, Texas. With him losing to Fury, Paul may look to call out KSI after the Diaz fight, regardless of how the contest plays out.

Joe Fournier breaks his silence on the controversial KO loss to KSI

Joe Fournier is quite an experience boxer. WBA even had him as the 11th-ranked light heavyweight boxer. According to DAZN, he won the WBA international light heavyweight title following his win over Wilmer Mejia. While he is 40 years of age, there is no doubt that he is much more experienced in the boxing ring than Olajide Olatunji.

Hence, he was fuming with the result. During a backstage interview, Fournier revealed, “I was getting up slowly because I thought they were counting because it was a clear (foul). I felt the elbow, I saw the punch go past my face and he hits me with an elbow.” He further elaborated, “It was a right hand. Right hand goes past and it hits me. It’s gone viral, it’s everywhere. Literally, I felt bone.”

Upon being asked if he would like to face off with KSI once more or not, Joe added, “Of course, you gotta run it back, He should be disqualified. That should go down as a loss.”

However, KSI denied the accusations completely. He said, “Nah bro, I hit him with a massive shot and he was dazed, he was scrambling, trying to hold on to me for dear life. I was like, ‘Nah, nah, your soul is mine.'” (h/t via Michael Benson)
