Ahead of their highly anticipated boxing match, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz had their first pre-fight press conference. Whilst the presser had all the talk, there was also a few amusing instances. Notably, one of them saw Nate Diaz walk out of the press conference as well.
Recently, Jake announced that he would be taking on Nate Diaz in the boxing ring. However, there were a lot of questions about whether the fight would be able to take place. As it turns out, Diaz was facing a second-degree battery charge after a physical altercation with Logan Paul lookalike, Rodney Peterson.

Eventually, Diaz was released after posting bail and has since been back home. Thus, the press conference was set up together as a way of letting everyone know that the fight is on. However, the presser, which had no live audience whatsoever was riddled with awkward moments. One of the more notable ones was when Diaz simply walked out for a ‘bathroom break’.
An appalled Jake looked on stating, “Is man leaving?” Upon being told that Diaz was gone to the washroom, the social media star added, “Jesus Christ, I’ve never seen anything like it”. Fortunately, Diaz did indeed return, much to the relief of Jake. As such, they concluded the press conference with the traditional face-off and photographs.
Nate Diaz trashed Jake Paul and the press conference for having no fans
As mentioned previously, the presser, which was promoting such a big fight, surprisingly had no fans present at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Thus, Diaz, who is usually accustomed to packed arenas of fans screaming his name, felt a little bit out of place. As such, Diaz decided to have a go at The Problem Child and his crew for the “rookie-a** press conference”.
Commenting on the matter, Nate said, “I don’t know where all the f*cking people are at? We wouldn’t have no normal people for the press conference? Whose idea was this? We shoulda had a hundred normal people in here, this is sketch a** press conference, f*cking rookie as** press conference.” However, Jake was quick to point out that Nate’s team is also organizing the event.
Another weird instance during the presser came when a reporter called out and disrespected Nick Diaz in front of Nate. In reply, Nate said, “Hey Derek Betr Media, stupid a** motherf***er. The f**k? You need to have your a** whooped.” As such, the interaction prompted an apology from Jake, who is the owner of Betr Media. Thus, Jake promised to deal with the situation and have Derek fired from the company.
For the most part, the fight is expected to be a mega PPV with Oscar De La Hoya predicting 3 million PPV buys. However, with such a high-profile event, things will need to be up to standard as well. All in all, it was a rather poor production for the presser which may leave fans doubting their investment. Ahead of the ticket sales, the shabby press conference could well have deterred many from purchasing their seats and PPVs.
