Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury is finally in the books and the fans now know who the better boxer is. Tommy beat Jake via split decision in their mega-fight in Saudi Arabia. Jake was very confident of beating the younger Fury brother and then moving on to fight for a boxing world title. However, judging by the result, it does not seem like that dream is coming true any time soon.
There was a lot of chatter about a leaked image, which was allegedly the script for the fight. As per the leaked image, the fight was supposed to end in a stoppage with Jake Paul getting the win. The alleged script also revealed that Jake would score a knockdown on Tommy, which he actually did. But, it was Tommy who won the fight.

However, there is reportedly a rematch clause in the contract. Although Jake gave Tommy credit for the fight, he was extremely unhappy with the judging and revealed his intentions to come back for the rematch. While Fury remains unbeaten, Jake has suffered his first loss. So the 25-year-old will definitely be hungry to avenge his maiden defeat.
Tommy Fury beats Jake Paul via a split decision
From round 1 itself, fans saw that Tommy had a better game plan than Jake. Nicknamed “TNT,” Tommy used his jab superbly throughout the fight. It is something that he has learned from his elder brother, Tyson Fury. Tyson perhaps uses the jab better than anyone else in the boxing ring. It was smart of Tommy to do so as Jake’s hands were low as he was rushing forward to land big punches.

As per COMPUBOX, Jake only managed to land 49 out of 152 total punches. In contrast, Fury landed a total of 88 punches out of an attempted 302! It just shows that Tommy overwhelmed Jake with his volume of punches and smooth activity in the ring. However, in a desperate attempt to finish the fight in the final round, Jake got one knockdown.

But it was too little too late as the decision went against him. Two judges thought Tommy was the rightful winner and scored the fight 76-73 for the 23-year-old. But the other judge preferred Jake Paul and scored it 75-74 for “The Problem Child.” However, it is important to note that the ref took a point away from Fury in the fight for a foul. However, it would not have made any difference in the end result.
