Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley takes place in the main event of the next Showtime PPV on August 29. It’s one of the biggest fights in the world of combat sports for this year and rightfully so.
The YouTuber turned pro boxer, Jake Paul takes on the toughest opponent of his boxing career in Tyron Woodley, who is considered one of the greatest welterweights of all time. Though Woodley comes from the world of MMA he still possesses the power and skillsets to put the Problem Child in deep trouble inside the boxing ring.
However, it’s not going to be an easy task for Tyron Woodley. Though Jake Paul is not an elite boxer yet he has shown impressive skills so far in his career. Besides that, he has legit knockout power that can trouble The Chosen One.
Going into the fight week there have been a lot of talks about the size and weight difference between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley. Woodley has competed at 170 lbs division for his entire life. On the other hand, Jake Paul has weighed in at 190 lbs for his last few fights.
Weight Difference Between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley
But there won’t be a significant weight difference between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley on fight night. During the official weigh-in, Jake Paul weighed in at 190 lbs while Tyron Woodley weighed in at 189.5 lbs.
It did not seem like Tyron Woodley cut a lot of weight to make the 190 lbs limit. However, Jake Paul did cut weight for the fight. And as per him, he will gain around 5 lbs before the fight.
Now 190 lbs are not the natural weight class for Tyron Woodley. but it should be considered that he used to cut a lot of weight to make weight for welterweight and his natural weight on the fight night must be above 180 lbs.
Though Woodley will have a little disadvantage when it comes to weight and height, he has a long reach which will help him a lot against Jake.
In the undercard, Tommy Fury and Anthony Taylor also made weight. While Taylor came in at 176 lbs Tommy Fury weighed in at 179 lbs. The co-main event of the PPV, Amanda Serrano, and UFC Vegas 35 features weighed in at 124 lbs.
It was also announced that Tommy Furry vs Anthony Taylor which was originally scheduled for 6 rounds is now a 4 round bout.
