We are hours away from the much-anticipated champion vs champion matchup between the IBF, WBC, and WBO super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo and the WBA champion Brian Castano.
Every time Jermell Charlo gets into the boxing ring there is a lot of drama and theatrics leading up to the fight. But this fight against Castano is a huge fight in Charlo’s career as he is only one win away from winning his fourth major title.
Going into the fight there is bad blood between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano. And things almost got out of hands during the official weigh-in for the title unification bout as Jermell Charlo’s teammate got into an unpleasant altercation with Castano’s teammate.
Luckily, the officials and security were able to control the situation before the verbal altercation could turn into a fistfight. But, this intensity during the weigh-in just goes on to show that the fans are in for a wild night.

The IBF, WBC, and WBO super-welterweight champion, Jermell Charlo has an incredible pro boxing record with 34 wins and only one loss. Charlo has secured 18 wins, which is not quite spectacular when compared to Castano’s record.
Brian Castano has a higher finishing rate with 12 KO wins in his 17 pro fights. However, it must be considered that Jermell Charlo has had a tougher road to the titles in the division.
Charlo won the WBC title by beating Tony Harrison in 2019 with a 11th round KO finish. Then he would go on to win the IBF and WBO titles by beating Jeison Rosario.
Though Brian Castano has not suffered defeat inside the boxing ring yet he had a draw against Erislandy Lara back in 2019.
