Tommy Fury and Jake Paul are finally fighting after several attempts at booking this fight. The two have gone after each other many times on social media. And recently, Tommy’s father, John Fury got wrapped up in this rivalry as he took his shirt off and hurled threats at a grinning Jake Paul.
This fight was finally booked for February 26 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the fight, John Fury has definitely piled the pressure on his son Tommy. Fury said in an interview that if his younger son and Tyson Fury’s half-brother, Tommy cannot knock out Jake Paul, he will lose the bout.
“If it goes to points, he deserves it. If it goes to a points decision and it’s a close fight, give it to Jake Paul. He deserves the win.” said the 58-year-old former boxer. He then went on to predict the fight. “Jake Paul’s getting knocked out, mate,” said Fury with an audacious smirk on his wrinkled face.
John Fury has definitely upped the ante for his son come Sunday. Tommy Fury’s last showing against Rolly Lambert was passable at best. However, the British boxer will likely use this as motivation to prove what he has been spouting about the “Problem Child” all this time as true.
Tyson Fury threatened to leave Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia
Tyson Fury is the undefeated WBC heavyweight champion of the world. Naturally, he is one with high ambition and even higher standards. This is why the Gypsy King threatened to leave his brother in Saudi Arabia if Tommy loses to The Problem Child.
Tyson Fury said Tommy could chum it up with Al-Nassr’s highest-paid player, Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle Eastern country if he lost. Tyson said, “I’ll leave Tommy in Saudi Arabia. He can become Cristiano Ronaldo’s best pal. And he can be a PT for Ronaldo in Saudi…Whoever loses is pretty much f***ed I’d say.”

Tommy Fury’s family is certainly giving him a hard time ahead of his fight against Paul. And it does make sense considering Tyson’s own achievements. Tommy is about to fight someone whom he thinks would be beaten by an average professional boxer. Whereas, The Gypsy King is about to attempt to unify his WBC title with the ones Oleksandr Usyk won off Anthony Joshua.
His father and brother’s words will weigh on Tommy Fury as he fights Jake Paul. But having started boxing when he was 12, Tommy will want to make a statement with an emphatic win over Jake Paul.
