Jonathan Majors was in the headlines because of his arrest on March 25. At the time, reports came out that he allegedly assaulted a woman in New York during a cab ride. Later, TMZ further elaborated that the victim was allegedly Majors’ girlfriend. So it was a serious allegation and he was reportedly being charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment.
Although it is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, fans were worried about his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was speculation about whether the movie studio would re-cast him or not. But, at the time, one of Jonathan Majors’ spokespersons insisted that the Creed 3 actor did not do anything wrong. It looks like the claim is about to be proven true as his lawyer reveals some very interesting details about the case.
Jonathan Majors’ girlfriend seemingly proves that he is innocent
Priya Chaudry is leading the defense as Jonathan Majors’ criminal lawyer. In a statement, she gave a lot of context behind the whole situation. She reaffirmed Jonathan’s claims of being innocent and revealed that it was the actor himself who placed the 911 call to report the incident. There are reports of Majors’ girlfriend suffering lacerations and bruises.
Hence, the NYPD apparently appeared on the scene with paramedics as well. As per the lawyer, after taking everything into consideration, the police personnel present at the scene had to arrest Jonathan Majors as it was the standard protocol. However, merely a few hours later, the alleged victim sent Jonathan Majors some text messages that may act as conclusive evidence to prove Majors’ innocence.
In order to protect Majors’ girlfriends’ identity, her name was blurred out of the screenshots of the messages. There were three messages and the second one simply read, “I love You.” But in the first message, the alleged victim seemingly confessed that it was indeed her who tried to use force to obtain Majors’ phone. At the time, she admittedly got out of the hospital to treat her injuries.
However, it was the final message that implies that no criminal charges will be put against Jonathan Majors. In the message, she absolutely rubbished the initial claims that Majors place his hand on the unnamed woman’s neck.
She wrote, “They just called again to check on me and I reiterated how this was not an attack and they do not have my blessing on any charges being placed. I read the paper they gave me about strangulation and I said point blank this did not occur and should be removed immediately. The judge is definitely going to be told this. She ensured this to me. I know you have the best team and there’s nothing to worry about I just want you to know that I’m doing all I can my end. I also said to tell the judge to know that the origin of the call was to do with me collapsing and passing out and your worry as my partner due to our communication prior. Out of care. She promised all will be relayed.”
If the messages are to be believed, they paint Jonathan Majors in a very positive light. Hence, he may be exonerated of all the reported charges. If that turns out to be the case, Jonathan will definitely look to put this matter to bed for good.
