With fame comes money and a little bit of notoriety, well, in the case of Jake Paul, a lot of notoriety. The YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul was very recently seen being confronted by none other than Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and his crew of over twenty people. Both the Paul brothers have always managed to keep their names making the rounds, be it in the YouTube world or the sport of Boxing.
In a now-viral clip, Jake Paul appears to be confronted, by what seems to be, an entourage of about 50 people right alongside the undefeated boxer ‘Money May’. The scenes happened in an alley outside the Miami-Dade Arena in South Florida. Jake had apparently just come out of the recent Miami Heat – Cleveland Cavaliers game that was hosted by the same arena.
However, this isn’t the first time we have seen the two of them in a heated confrontation. In the May of 2021 during the Mayweather vs [Logan] Paul media scrum, Jake went up to the 46-year-old boxer and started dissing him in front of the cameras. Soon after, he stole Floyd’s hat right off his head and tried to run away with it, followed by Floyd and his crew physically assaulting him before he was taken to safety by his guards. This incident lead to the famous “gotcha hat” catchphrase.
Jake has already come out on his social media to give us an update on what went down outside the Miami-Dade arena and the reason why he chose to run away from the scene. He goes –
“I’m leaving the Miami-Heat game and Floyd Mayweather & 50 dudes pull up outta nowhere out of like some side alley waiting for me outside of the stadium. and they were like ‘So what’s up? so what’s up?'”
He further clarifies “I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Cmon bro. and then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me to try and jump me. I’m out of that b**ch. Floyd, you wanna run it 1 on 1, no problem. but, I’m not dumb, okay? I’m not gonna sit there and fight fifty dudes.”
“You’re mad because I took your f**king hat. Are you serious? Get over it bro” added Paul.
Fans are calling Floyd Mayweather a coward for this move
Of course, the fans took over to their social media to share how they felt about the whole anticlimactic incident. While some fans believe Floyd did the right thing to ‘get one back’ for the “gotcha hat” altercation, the rest others are all praise for Jake’s spontaneous decision to run away from the scene as soon as he got the chance.
Shiiiid my ass would’ve ran too, if 5+ ppl trying to hop me. What sensible 5’7” person gonna stay there trying to be Batman 😅🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/E1FAousfKt

Does this confrontation mean we will get a Mayweather vs Jake Paul bout at some point in the future? or will it end up in an exhibition match? If it happens, this would give Jake an opportunity to avenge his brother’s 2021 loss against ‘Money May’. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments down below.
