Ahead of the epic clash between two boxing greats, Mike Tyson will take on former four-division world Champion Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout on November 28th this year. The bout will be officially sanctioned by California State Athletic Commission with both the former boxers expected to exhibit their skills rather than compete inside the ring. However, the lead-up to the fight hasn’t appeared like Tyson is preparing for an exhibition bout, with Roy Jones Jr. expressing concern over Tyson’s power.
Earlier, reports emerged that Tyson could take on Tyson Fury, Conor McGregor, Deontay Wilder among others. However, after the official confirmation of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. looks like Tyson is looking at competing a couple more times inside the ring. In a recent video posted on Instagram, Tyson stated that he is down to fighting current undisputed king of the Heavyweight division Anthony Joshua.
Mike Tyson down to fighting World Champion Anthony Joshua
Mike Tyson has looked in great shape ahead of his exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. Tyson looks sharp, and if the leaked and released training video are saying something, it’s that Tyson still has the fierce power to knockout any boxer inside the ring even at 54.
“It’s for a good cause.” Tyson said about his decision to step inside the ring. “I would love to do that. That would be mind-blowing.” Tyson said on a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua.
When asked whether he would be willing to fight a younger opponent, Mike Tyson said that it depends on the “exponents of charity.” Tyson stated that if the fight bring in good numbers, and helps raise money for charity, he would be down to fighting younger opponents like Anthony Joshua.
“If doing that means we could have bigger charity exponents. If they are down to do that. I am willing too. It’s entertainment, it’s for a good cause but we give it our best.”
Mike Tyson has been training hard for his anticipated match-up against Roy Jones Jr. “I will be prepared.” Tyson exclaimed ahead of November 28th.
