The much-awaited fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou is in the books. The boxing match lived up to its hype as ‘The Predator’ delivered a more than expected stellar performance against ‘The Gypsy King’. However, Fury won the fight via majority decision. Many fight fans believe that it was a robbery but Mike Tyson does not agree with them.
Mike Tyson acted as the trainer and mentor for Ngannou for this fight. Furthermore, Mike was very proud of his training and showed a lot of confidence in ‘The Predator’. However, when he was asked about the decision being a robbery, he had a surprising reaction.

“It wasn’t a robbery and everybody knows the outcome,” said the boxing legend. According to the fans,’ Iron Mike’ is subliminally said that Francis clearly won the fight. If you read between the lines and see his expressions, it is quite clear that he knows that his protege has done enough to win.
Although the judges’ scorecard was against Ngannou, Mike should definitely be proud of his protege’s performance. Before this fight, no one was expecting Francis to go the distance with Tyson Fury.

However, after the fight ‘Iron Mike’ expressed his feelings about Ngannou’s performance through social media. Mike posted a picture with ‘The Predator’ via X with the caption – “The true champ of the evening, So proud how you performed.” It looks like Francis has done enough to gain the respect of the boxing legend.

‘The Gypsy King’ won a controversial decision against the MMA star. Two of the judges scored the fight in favor of Tyson Fury (96-93, 95-94) while only one of them scored it in Ngannou’s favor. ‘The Predator’ had a great showing throughout this match. He was putting constant pressure on Fury and even made him switch to the southpaw stance.
Francis Ngannou was using his short uppercuts and body jabs quite efficiently. Furthermore, he made the boxing goat bleed during the initial rounds of the fight. Tyson Fury was having a lot of trouble getting past Ngannou’s lead hand.

Tyson Fury landed 71 punches overall out of his 223 attempts. Out of the 71 punches, there were 39 jabs and 32 power punches landed by ‘The Gypsy King’.
On the other hand, Francis Ngannou landed 59 punches out of his 231 attempts. Out of those 59 punches, he landed 22 jabs and 37 power punches. Furthermore, ‘The Predator’ scored the only knockdown of the match giving him a 10-8 round.

Many fans from the MMA community feel that Francis was robbed as he had done enough to win the fight. He had the biggest moment in the fight with the knockdown. Furthermore, he had a lot of success on the inside, which is Fury‘s strong area.
Although Fury out-jabbed Ngannou ‘The Predator’ landed the more powerful strikes leaving the fans in confusion. Furthermore, Tyson Fury landed an illegal elbow on Francis Ngannou which should have led to a deduction in points. Overall, it was a great showing for Francis and it will further boost his stocks in the fight community.
