Ryan Garcia’s mental health has become a cause of concern in the combat sports world in the past few days. He is set to face Devin Haney just over a month from now on April 20, 2024, in New York. What started as a social media feud and seemed like something fighters do to create hype for their fights has turned out to be much more serious from Garcia’s side.
The feud began with Garcia mentioning Haney and Davis’ sparring footage. The footage which has been talked about for years but never seen by the public was leaked by Garcia. The American boxer then went on to post social media celebrity Mikaela Testa on his social media accounts claiming she was his girlfriend. Within days, he deleted those posts and posted Gigi, Haney’s ex-girlfriend, stating he would marry Gigi. Garcia deleted that soon after.

The former WBC interim-lightweight champion even openly claimed he drinks and smokes weed. He has also been accused of posting on social media in a drunken state because of the questionable material. His most recent post has fans and fighters lining up to show him support. It is being speculated that he is going through some mental health problems.
Pro fighters including Dillon Danis react to Ryan Garcia’s latest controversial social media post
On Instagram as well as X, Garcia’s account claimed he was dead in a video. The video read, “… RYAN GARCIA RIP B*TCH…” “666” was mentioned twice in the video and fans speculated that Garcia was going through some difficult time in his life.
Former Bellator fighter, Dillon Danis, commented on Garcia’s Instagram post, “I’ll pay for you to get help man feel bad for you.”
Mental health is really important, and if Ryan Garcia is genuinely struggling, he deserves all the support he can get. I’m totally here to help out in whatever way I can. Hang in there and get well soon, champ!

Dillon Danis, who was also in a social media beef with Garcia, took the matter seriously. On X, he offered further support to Ryan and wrote, “Mental health is really important, and if Ryan Garcia is genuinely struggling, he deserves all the support he can get. I’m totally here to help out in whatever way I can. Hang in there and get well soon, champ!”
UFC veteran Diego Sanchez also offered his prayers for the boxer. He wrote, “Praying for you Ryan… your young and under spiritual attack you have opened doorways for the enemy to attack you. You don’t have to reach rock bottom like I did to repent and be delivered…”
BKFC fighters Mike Perry and Tony Loco Soto showed their concern as well. Perry wrote, “What’s going on with Ryan,” meanwhile Tony wrote, “Are you okay bro.”
Pro boxer Juan Velazquez Jr. was also concerned, he asked, “Bro you good?”
What has caused even more confusion is that people close to Garcia have conflicting opinions. His father and coach Henry, and ex-wife Andrea Celina have opened up about the situation.
Ryan Garcia’s father Henry assured fans he was fine but his ex-wife Andrea Celina contradicted
On an Instagram post, Henry was asked by a fan if Ryan was okay. Henry assured the fan that there was nothing wrong with Ryan. He wrote, “yes Ryan is ok , he’s just trolling the wrong way.”
Fans were left unhappy with Ryan and his way of trolling. He had taken things too far with his posts. However, his ex-wife Andrea Celina had a completely different story. Celina, who is the mother of two of Garcia’s children, wrote that Garcia was not okay. She claimed that he seemed okay but he was not. She had been in contact with him and, according to her, he is “being heavily oppressed.”
Celina asked fans to pray for Garcia’s well-being. Garcia, who has opened up to the world before about his mental health struggles, is hopefully doing better than what is being perceived right now.
