Former UFC champion Israel Adesanya released a video on his YouTube channel where he reacted to the boxing match between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis and the brawl that followed. After the bell rang, when Danis tried to attack Paul, the whole ring was filled with security guards, and it was total chaos. For a moment, it looked like the security personnel were engaged in a fight themselves.
Reacting to this, the Last Stylebender said, “It looks like the security are the ones fighting; they need to be professional.”. Like most of the other viewers watching the much-awaited contest, Izzy also felt that the fight was ‘weird’.
The bout was one of the most hyped events of the year, as the build-up to the fight was the talk of the town for the last few months. After all this, when the actual boxing match ended up being a total anti-climax, fans were nothing but disappointed.
This marked Danis’ return to combat sports after a hiatus since 2019. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt boasts a 2-0 record in MMA fights, but this was his inaugural boxing match. On the other hand, ‘Maverick’, now standing at 1-1, achieved his first victory in boxing after his earlier loss to YouTuber KSI by split decision in 2018.
The main event, where YouTuber turned boxer KSI was handed his first ever defeat in boxing against Tommy Fury, was no better. That one too just saw both fighters hugging and clinching, and very few strikes were exchanged between the two.
