Francis Ngannou is gearing up for the biggest fight of his career. Making his boxing debut, Ngannou is going up against none other than Tyson Fury. Ahead of the big fight, some fans are growing rather concerned about the Cameroonian, owing to some recent training footage.
Previously, it was announced that Francis would finally get his much-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury. With such a tall task ahead of him, ‘The Predator’ enlisted the services of boxing legend Mike Tyson. Seeing that the two are friends, it was only inevitable that Big Mike would put on his coaching cap. Unfortunately, with just a month left to the fight, fans believe that Ngannou could be in deep trouble.

In a recent training clip, ‘Iron Mike’ can be seen instructing the Cameroonian on how to throw certain combinations. Seeing the clips, many took to social media to share their thoughts. Notably one fan on X wrote, “Look at how Mike Tyson throws the two-punch combo and how Francis N’Gannou throws the combo. They’re the same division. This fight is gonna be U-G-L-Y”.
Thus, many were left unimpressed trying to see Ngannou replicate Tyson’s actions. Despite registering a record 129,161 units on the PowerKube, the 37-year-old himself looked to be way off the pace. Seeing that he is taking on one of the best boxers that has ever stepped inside the ring, Ngannou’s preparation seems to be way behind schedule.
Francis Ngannou reveals how Mike Tyson is helping him rain for the Fury fight
Although there are a lot of asterisks involved, especially with training footage ahead of a fight, Francis has put his full faith in Mike Tyson. Recently, Francis also appeared on the Joe Rogan Podcast to speak on a number of topics. Here, Ngannou touched upon what went down behind the scenes with the UFC, and his upcoming fight, among other things. For the most part, the former UFC champ is awestruck in every single session with the legendary Mike Tyson.
According to Francis, training alongside the 57-year-old is a surreal experience. Moreover, Tyson’s decades of boxing experience means that his wisdom and guidance are almost unrivaled. Speaking about it, Francis reveals, “His entire career, he always fight people that was like Tyson Fury. That’s why I especially went to him about this fight. If I was able to have a quarter of what Mike Tyson have, this fight would be an easy fight”.
Thus, similar to a lot of boxing enthusiasts, Francis rates Big Mike very highly and is very keen to learn everything he can from him. Notably, one of the key things that the former American boxer had was his movement. As Francis reveals, one of the biggest things they have worked on is his lower body dexterity and movement.
Although many only saw the tremendous power that Tyson would knock out his opponents with, his movement and leg work were very underrated. As such, since the start of camp, it has been a key area that Ngannou has worked on. With that said, will it be enough to get Francis over the line against Fury? Only time will tell.
