“We Thought We Won”- Jake Paul Goes Against Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor Judges’ Result; Demands a Rematch in 2022

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano for the undisputed lightweight championship was a fight to be remembered for the ages as both these lightweights put on a performance of their lifetime in front of a full packed Madison Square Garden in New York. They traded blow for blow throughout the ten rounds and left their heart and soul inside the ring.

The crowd present inside the arena was in awe after seeing Katie and Amanda go hammer and tongs at each other. However, in the end, it was The Bray Bomber who had done enough to secure a win via split decision and retain her undisputed crown.

One of the judges scored the contest 96-94 for Amanda Serrano. Meanwhile, the other two judges scored the bout 96-93 and 97-94 in favour of Katie Taylor respectively. In what was an epic fistfight, Serrano badly hurt Taylor with one of her shots in the fifth round.

Thereafter there was no stopping Amanda as she went on a punching spree. However, Katie Taylor somehow managed to survive Amanda’s onslaught and recovered in the latter stages of the bout.

So it is needless to say that the Cuban boxer along with her promoter Jake Paul was unhappy with this decision as she almost finished the Irish boxer in the fifth round.

Jake Paul believes that Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano should have ended in a draw at best

After the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight was over and the Irish boxer was declared the winner, both promoters Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul shared their thoughts on this epic matchup in an Interview. The Problem Child was disappointed with the result as he believed that Amanda Serrano had done enough to win the bout.

“It was a draw at best. We thought we won, we thought Amanda won. Amanda performed amazing. It was a fight of a lifetime. You know that was incredible. Both women fought their hearts out as well. It was a historic moment.”

Jake also addressed the crowd booing him during the interview and he expressed his desire to book a rematch as soon as possible.

“The crowd’s booing but everyone’s a winner here tonight. I’d be mad if I was them too you know. But hey kudos to Katie Taylor for what she’s done for women’s boxing. Kudos to Amanda Serrano. You gotta give credit where credit is due. And let’s run it back like Eddie said September, October, this fight, this second fight got a whole lot bigger,” said The Problem Child.

With both Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn verbally agreeing for a rematch, the only thing left is for both the female lightweights to sign the dotted line.
