On September 30, 2023, at the T-Mobile Arena, highly anticipated boxing prodigy Curmel Moton yet again managed to score a decisive victory. He faced Ezequiel Flores in the match-up and knocked him out in the opening frame. Moton is regarded by many as the next big thing in the world of boxing, and he is being mentored by none but arguably the greatest boxer of all time, Floyd Mayweather.
Moton’s fight, however, happened in an unusual setting, as the 12-round title fight between Canelo Alvarez and Jermell Charlo was followed immediately by the 17-year-old’s walkout contest. This was because the promoters could not fit his boxing match into the card before the main event.
Mayweather, being his mentor, highly rates the young boxer, and he was also present in the press conference for the fight. However, the boxing legend had to interrupt the conference to prove a point about who the best in the business is. Floyd took the microphone to express to a journalist that he was the one who beat the most number of world champions.

Mayweather further asked, “Who made the most money?” To this, the reporter obviously said, “You did”. The conversation ended with the journalist admitting that Floyd Mayweather was the greatest boxer of all time, and that is probably what the boxing great aimed at.
With 50 victories in the ring to his credit and a career record of being unbeaten, ‘Money Mayweather’ is now retired and one of the biggest pay-per-view draws in not just boxing but all of sports.
Floyd Mayweather feels Canelo Alvarez is an easy fight
The Mexican champion Canelo Alvarez is regarded as one of the best fighters currently on a global basis. However, Floyd Mayweather does not feel the same, as he feels that he was one of the easiest opponents he had ever faced.
Nearly ten years have passed since Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez’s famous matchup. For the Mexican fans, the battle was somewhat disappointing. Nevertheless, the fight managed to bring in a record $150 million in PPV numbers, according to Forbes, on a total of 2.2 million sales.
Well, the 36-year-old Floyd Mayweather seemed far more experienced than the 23-year-old Canelo Alvarez. Only 22% of the total punches Alvarez threw at the unbeaten boxer connected, compared to Mayweather’s 46% success rate.

In an interview, Floyd said, “Canelo was so easy, we call him Cal-lose-io.”. Fans did not like this from Floyd, as Canelo has been a legend of the sport in his own right and has given many special moments inside the boxing ring to the fight fans.
Alvarez retained his undisputed super-middleweight title against Jermell Charlo on September 30 after securing a dominant unanimous decision victory.
