Chantelle Cameron, who is set to take on Katie Taylor in a trilogy bout later this year, has split with her trainer Jamir Moore. Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Jamie Moore reveals the decision to part ways with the former undisputed light-welterweight champion is mutual, and the duo did not have a falling out after Cameron fell short in the rematch against Taylor last year.
“We’ve just decided to go our separate ways,” Moore said, “We haven’t fallen out or anything like that. I wish her all the best. I’ll always love her. We had a great ride together.” He further added.
Cameron made history in 2023 after she handed Ireland’s Katie Taylor the first loss of her professional boxing career. However, the 32-year-old Briton fell short in the rematch later in the same year.
Who is Jamie Moore, and when did he start working with Chantelle Cameron?
Chantelle Cameron joined MTK Global and trainer Jamie Moore after an ugly split with her previous trainer, Shane McGuigan. Back in 2019, Cameron blamed McGuigan for his lack of attention to “female boxers” and admitted to feeling “isolated” and “humiliated” under him.
Jamie Moore is a former professional boxer from Britain who competed from 1991 to 2010. The Manchester-based trainer started working with Chantelle Cameron in 2019 and has since helped her win her first maiden world title and the undisputed light-welterweight gold.
Under Moore, Cameron has also etched her name in the history books after becoming the first boxer to beat Katie Taylor. She is also the only English boxer to hold the four titles.
