One of the biggest fights in the UK boxing history is scheduled to go down this weekend between WBC and The Ring Magazine Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and WBC interim champion Dillian Whyte.
The Gypsy King has not fought in his home country since 2018. Hence, it will be a big occasion when the consensus best active heavyweight champion returns to a sold-out Wembley Stadium to a thunderous ovation.

The 33-year old is coming off one of the most iconic trilogies in the history of boxing against Deontay Wilder. The hype surrounding the fight is unreal and it is only increased by the speculation that this may just be his last fight. He expressed the desire to retire after fighting Whyte.
Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte: Venue & Attendance
As mentioned above, the fight will take place inside the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. Coincidentally this will also be the first when The Ring Magazine title will be contested in Britain. Muhammad Ali and Brian London fought for the prestigious title last in 1966 in the same arena. So there will be a sense of nostalgia in the crowd.
The stadium holds about 90 thousand spectators inside. Wembley is expected to be a sellout for this event. Both fighters are British and their respective fan bases will be present there to support their favourite fighter. The combat sports fans in the UK are among some of the best crowds in the world. The atmosphere inside the iconic venue will be electric.
Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte: Fight Purse
The purse bid for this fight was the highest ever in the history of boxing. Frank Warren, the organizer of this event won the bidding war with a bid of $41 million. His bid was almost $10 million more than Eddie Hearn’s, who came in second. The record for highest fight purse in boxing history previously belonged to the fight between Evander Holyfield vs Buster Douglas in 1990. The purse for the fight was $32.1 million.
