As the highly awaited bout between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis is just days away, more and more people from the MMA world are chiming in with their opinions. The latest to do so was Colby Covington. The UFC fighter had some harsh words for Danis who replied with similar venom.
During an interview with James Lynch, Covington claimed that Danis has members of his team who are ghost-writing for him. He also insulted Danis’ fighting abilities. Covington said, “He’s [Danis] got a good guy behind the screen, ghost-writing for him. He’s definitely been able to manufacture some drama with that fight…
“D*ldo Danis is not a fighter. That guy can’t throw a punch; he literally couldn’t punch his way out of a wet paper bag. So the guy shouldn’t be there. He’s just there to get his a*s whooped by Logan, and, you know, I think Logan starches him.”

Danis did not hold back. He took a page out of Conor McGregoor‘s book and unearthed a picture of himself with Covington. Danis posted the picture and captioned it, “Remember when you begged me for a picture, little fan boy? B*tch, if I come to the UFC, I’d tap you in the first round.”

McGregor also used a similar tactic during his back-and-forth with Khabib Nurmagomedov before UFC 229. Khabib had clicked a picture with McGregor years before they got into a feud. The Irish fighter unearthed the picture and called Khabib a “fanboy“.
Colby Covington believes Logan Paul and Dillon Danis are not real fighters
During the same interview, Covington went a step ahead and called Danis vs. Paul a circus. He refused to believe that the pair were real fighters and also refused to show interest.
He said, “I haven’t really been paying attention to it because it’s a circus sideshow. Bro, like these guys, aren’t real fighters… I just, I could care less about their fight,”
Convington praised himself and UFC in the process calling it “the best combat sports organization in the world.”
The former interim Welterweight champion is set to face Leon Edwards at UFC 296 in December. Edwards will be defending his Welterweight title against Covington.
On the other hand, Danis will go up against Paul on October 14, 2023, in Manchester, England. During the same ‘PRIME’ card event, KSI will face Tommy Fury.
