Conor McGregor announces retirement
It should be noted that this is not the first time Conor McGregor has announced his retirement on social media. McGregor announced retirement after his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov as well. In 2016, McGregor announced to the fans that he has decided to retire young, only to return later. He has announced his retirement numerous times in the past, so there’s a chance that the former dual champion might make a return at a later date. Fans reacted to the news, bringing up McGregor’s earlier tweets where he called retirement from the sport.

While this is not the first time Conor McGregor has said that, one cannot out rightly ignore McGregor’s post, where he thanked his fans, and announced his retirement from the sport. McGregor was touted to fight Floyd Mayweather in a rematch inside the boxing ring, with a lot of interesting match-ups ahead of him. However, it seems like McGregor has decided against the idea of ever competing inside the octagon again. It’s difficult to predict where McGregor will go from here, but we could well be looking at McGregor transition into the boxing ring. McGregor joins Henry Cejudo in the list of fighters who have called retirement in the recent past.
