Novak Djokovic, one of the G.O.A.Ts of tennis is all set to establish his supremacy at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. With the Olympics set to roll, let’s take a look at what lies ahead for the Serbian great. Does he really stand a chance to beat the Swiss king Roger Federer and the king of clay Rafael Nadal?

The Joker is in red hot form. With his recent triumph at Wimbledon, he seems impossible to stop. The 34 years old is currently the joint top grand slam winner with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. He has a fair chance of winning a golden slam(4 grand slams and an Olympic gold)  and surpassing his rivals.

With 3 grand slams already to his name this year, he looks all set to accomplish the Golden glory and write his name in the history books.

The world number one arrived at the Haneda airport on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the Olympic games. The matches are about to start on the 24th of July. We expect Novak to stand on the occasion and establish his legacy.

How did Novak Djokovic perform at the Rio and London Olympics?

Novak Djokovic had to settle for a 4th placed finish at the London Olympics 2012. Sir Andy Murray defeated the Serbian in the semifinal match with the scoreline of 7-5, 7-5. He was then defeated again for the 3rd place match by Juan Martin del Potro. The Argentine secured the bronze medal defeating the current world number one 7-5, 6-4 in a rain-delayed match at Wimbledon.

The results were not good for the Serbian at the Rio Olympics 2016 as well. The 34-year-old saw an early setback when he was defeated again by Juan Martin del Potro. The Argentine was the better among the two, winning in two straight sets 7-6(7-4), 7-6(7-2). Novak Djokovic left the match in tears. ‘This is one of the toughest losses in my life,‘ said Djokovic post-match.

What to expect from Novak Djokovic in the Tokyo Olympics 2021?

Novak Djokovic has been in his best form recently. With all the hopes of his fellow countrymen lying on his shoulder,  he is most likely to win the Gold medal this time around.

Additionally, coming off a spectacular win in the Wimbledon, it won’t be wrong to say that spirits will be higher than ever this time around when Djokovic makes his walk to attain the Olympic gold.

The Olympic success will include him among the elites who have won the Golden slam. There are only 4 players who have won a golden slam. They are Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams. The Serbian will most likely want to induct himself among the legends.
