Nick Diaz will likely return to fighting later this year. Diaz’s longtime coach Cesar Gracie revealed on his social media platform, that the Stockton Slugger will once again compete and fans can expect to see him back by the end of this year. It goes without saying, the news comes as a surprise to many. Diaz last appeared at UFC 266 in a rematch against Robbie Lawler. The former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion dropped a TKO loss against former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler, in what was an incredible fight.
Be that as it may, fans were not too pleased with Diaz coming back to the Octagon. Diaz did not only look out of shape but also very slow inside the cage. Moreover, Diaz’s decision to just give up voluntarily after the fight raised a lot of eyebrows on whether or not the elder Diaz had the fighting spirit left in him.v
Is Nick Diaz returning to the UFC in 2022?
It was interesting to note that Cesar Gracie did not really point out whether Nick Diaz is returning to the UFC Octagon. In the post he shared on the photo-sharing platform Instagram, Gracie captioned how we could see Nick Diaz fight again by the end of this year.

Needless to say, fans are pointing out the possibility of watching Nick Diaz inside the boxing ring in a potential match-up against former mixed martial artists, or even YouTuber turned professional boxer, Jake Paul.
Nick Diaz vs Jake Paul could take place in 2022
There’s no denying the star power of Nick Diaz in the world of mixed martial arts. Arguably one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, Nick Diaz is a pioneer of the sport. On the other hand, Jake Paul has made strides as a professional boxer and has looked incredible in his last few bouts. While it’s one thing to say Jake Paul hasn’t fought professional boxers, beating former UFC Welterweight Tyron Woodley is quite an achievement to say nonetheless.
The last time around when Nick Diaz made his UFC return, it was quite evident that Nick did it for the pay-check. If there’s a chance that Diaz gets more money outside of the UFC, it won’t be wrong to say that it will be a boxing bout against Jake Paul. The Diaz brothers and the Paul Brothers have had back and forth on social media on several occasions, with Jake Paul expressing an interest to fight the younger Diaz, Nate.
It won’t be surprising if the elder brother steps up to answer Jake Paul’s call-out. What do you feel about a potential boxing bout between Nick Diaz and Jake Paul?
