It seems after leaving the ring, Rhodes went inside his private bus. He had a bottle of vodka in front of him and looked extremely upset. Looking at the camera, Rhodes said, “I have to believe, right? One thing… you can lose the faith of the fans. We’ve seen it tons of times.”
He added, “I have to believe that I won’t lose their faith, and there might be fans who are upset that I’ve been talking about this title for two years and haven’t decided to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.”

Thus, it can be understood that The American Nightmare was worried about the fans being upset with the decision. That was exactly the case, as #WeWantCody began trending and fans were vouching for Roman vs. Cody.
Soon after, the plans involving The Rock were scrapped, and Roman vs. Cody was set for WrestleMania 40. The outcome of the match saw Rhodes defeat Reigns to win the title, much to the fans’ satisfaction.

Also, in Roman’s absence, The Bloodline presented a drastic change as Solo Sikoa became the new Tribal Chief and added new members to the stable. Also, while The Rock is currently absent from WWE television, a future feud between Dwayne Johnson, Cody, and/or Roman has been teased.
Thus, it can be understood that Cody’s win led to a change in the WWE landscape that might not have happened if Roman vs. Rock had taken place.
