Responding to a fan on Twitter, the former dual champion confirmed that he doesn’t have a staph infection. McGregor revealed that the bruise on his elbow is not an injury, but the aftermath of a sparring session where he was landing “vicious brain-damaging elbows.”
Conor McGregor is completely healthy and will compete at UFC 264
The moment rumors started floating that McGregor could have a staph infection, fight fans were left wondering whether the Notorious would be able to make the walk at UFC 264. However, with the Notorious clearing the air around the mark on his elbow, it’s safe to say that the former dual champion is completely healthy and will compete at UFC 264.
Fight fans are expecting the best version of McGregor to walk to the Octagon next weekend inside the T-Mobile Arena. Needless to say, Conor has a lot to prove going into the trilogy bout, having lost both of his last two fights in the lightweight division. McGregor’s last win in the 155-pound division came against Eddie Alvarez back in November of 2016 at UFC 205.

McGregor will look to answer his critics and once again cement his legacy as one of the greatest of all time with a win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. However, it will be easier said than done. Dustin Poirier has shown great resilience throughout his MMA career and slowly and steadily has become one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
While McGregor still has a lot of fans favoring him to win against the Diamond, with the former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre also crediting McGregor’s ability to make adjustments and bounce back stronger in the rematch, it’s safe to say that it’s going to be an epic encounter at UFC 264.
