The latest installment in the popular tactical shooter series Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), developed by Valve brings in new graphics, gameplay mechanics, maps, modes, and weapons, transforming the entire CS:GO experience for the players.
The new installment has also changed the matchmaking system in the game. Counter Strike is indeed a fun game, but it is even better and enjoyable when played with friends, and Counter Strike 2 is no exception. CS2 makes it easier for players to team up with friends for a casual match, a competitive match, or a custom game.
Besides, playing with friends also acts as a great practice apart from being enjoyable. CS2 allows players to add friends in Play Counter Strike 2 private match, or invite friends to a Counter Strike 2 Party game. And here’s how it is done.
How to host a Private Match with friends in Counter Strike 2?
Playing with friends and hosting a private match with friends in CS2 is not rocket science. The game easily presents the options in the Main Menu, all players need to do is select the required options. Additionally, needless to say, the most essential prerequisite for playing private matches with friends is to have the CS2 game installed on ones device.
There are primarily two steps for hosting a private match – adding friends/matchmaking and starting a private match.
How to do private matchmaking with friends in Counter Strike 2?
First things first player need to add their friends on Steam. By adding as a friend, players can see their friends’ online status, chat with them, invite them to games, and even join their games. Here’s how to add friends on Steam:
- Launch the Steam application from your desktop. From the menu on top, click on the “Friends” option.
- A new panel will open up, where players can select the “Add a Friend” option.
- Post that players will be redirected to a new window which has three options. One is entering a friend’s code, the second is sending them a quick invite link from the dialog box right below it, or the third searching for a friend by typing their name in the search box located at the end of the page.
- After the player has found their friend, they must then click on their name and click on the “Add as Friend” button that appears on the right side of their profile.
Once a player has done this, an invite request will be sent to the friend. Players need to wait until the friend accepts the request.
How to start Counter Strike 2 Private Match?
The second step is to start a private game and invite the added friends. Remember, a private game is only accessible to the player hosting it and the friends they invite. A random player or a friend who has not been added will not be able to access the game. These are the steps players must follow to start a private game and invite friends to the private game:
- Launch CS2 from Steam and login with your Steam username and password.
- From the Main Menu, click on the “Play” option, followed by the “Play with Friends” option.
- The player’s friends list will appear on the left side of the screen. Players must click on the names of the friends they wish to invite. CS2 allows players to invite up to four friends since the game supports a maximum of five player team.
- From the right side, players can select game settings such as game mode, the map, the difficulty, as well as the permissions for the game. CS2 also allows players to change the name of their game and add a password to make it more secure.
- Once the game is set up, players must then click on the “Go” button at the bottom of the screen. This creates the game and send invitations to the friends.
- Once the friends accept your invitations and join the game, the player can start the game by clicking on the “Start Match” button at the bottom of the screen.
And it’s done. Player and their friends will be assigned to the same team and will have to fight the opponents on the map and the game mode they have chosen.
