Cus Swanson vs Doo Ho Choi will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame Class of 2022 in the Fight Wing, UFC announced during the live broadcast of UFC 273: Volkanovski vs Zombie. Earlier, UFC had revealed that Khabib Nurmagomedov will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
Doo Ho Choi took on UFC veteran Cub Swanson back at UFC 206 in 2016. The fight was awarded the “Fight of the Year” honors and continues to be a fan favorite. Ahead of the honors, both the fighters looked back at the incredible match-up, and revealed what was going on in their minds during the fight.

Doo Ho Choi reveals how he landed some incredible strikes in the first round, surprised by Swanson’s ability to take the shots. “I was blocking, blocking, waiting for the opportunity,” Swanson said, looking back at the barrage of punches that Doo Ho Choi present him with, in the second round.
In what was a three-round of war, both Swanson and Doo Ho Choi put up an absolute masterclass. Widely regarded as one of the most exciting fights in the history of the UFC, Swanson picked up an incredible win over the dangerous Korean fighter by 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28 on the judge’s scorecard.
“Round 2 was madness,” Swanson recalls, looking back at the fight.
Swanson, now 38, last competed inside the Octagon in December of 2021. Swanson expressed his desire to hang up his gloves after the fight, however, is yet to officially announce his retirement from the cage. Swanson won his last fight against Darren Elkins via stoppage in the very first round.
Meanwhile, Doo Ho Choi has not looked the same ever since the unanimous decision loss against Swanson. Hoo Choi has lost his last three fights and currently remains without a fight scheduled to his name. He last competed in December of 2019 and has not stepped inside the cage ever since. At 30 years of age, it goes without saying that Doo Ho Choi still has a lot of fight left in him.
