Jon Jones’ future with the UFC continues to hang on a thin thread after UFC president Dana White claimed that they are not looking to have the former light-heavyweight champion fight for the heavyweight championship next. Needless to say, it all came down after Jones and White once again got into a back and forth on social media after failed negotiations. While Jones maintains he has no intention of stepping inside the Octagon until his price is met, he also revealed that he is not aiming to return in 2021.
Dana White, on Jon Jones retaining Richard Schaefer. “I like Richard, I’ve known Richard for a long time and obviously, he built Golden Boy. He built that company. He knows what he’s doing, he’s a smart guy. I like and respect him and if we can get something done we will.”

While the relationship between Jones and White continues to deteriorate, the former light heavyweight champion retaining renowned advisor and manager Richard Schaefer did bring a ray of hope for every fight fan wanting to watch Jon Jones live again.
Earlier, UFC president Dana White had shared his thought on Jones’ new advisor and recently revealed his conversation with Richard in light of Jones’ future with the UFC in conversation with The Mac Life ahead of UFC 264.
“Richard Schaefer came in here and met with us. We had a good discussion. We educated him a lot, on how this business runs, and how it works.”
“I haven’t heard anything since he left, so I don’t know where they are with that and realistically, Jones said he is not fighting this year anyway.”
Dana White says Jon Jones is under contract
Dana White maintained that Jon Jones is under a contract and needless to say, he will have to fulfill it if he wants to keep competing in the professional circuit.
