UFC president Dana White has teased a possible showdown between top-ranked welterweight contender Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal next. In an interaction with the media, White revealed that the UFC is working on Edwards vs Masvidal next. Edwards is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz, while Masvidal is coming off a KO loss against welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
My next fight will be for the world title I don’t want to hear nothing about a guy coming off 2 fight skid and Got ko his last fight

However, looking at Edwards’ take on the decision to book a fight against Masvidal, it’s unlikely that UFC president Dana White will have an easy time coming to terms with both the fighters. Edwards is on a nine-fight winning streak and has been waiting for a title shot for quite some time now. While many believed that a dominant win over Nate Diaz would be enough to get him the title shot, the sloppy last round from Edwards where he almost got finished raised a lot of eyebrows.
On the other side, even Jorge Masvidal called out Leon Edwards after the British fighter expressed his disinterest in fighting the Gamebred. Masvidal rained down on the top-ranked welterweight contender on social media platform Twitter.
If you not gonna fight then keep my name out your p**sy a*s mouth you clout chasing biatch #supernecessary
— Jorge Masvidal UFC (@GamebredFighter) September 16, 2021
Both Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal share a bitter history with each other. Masvidal and Edwards got into a heated backstage brawl. Since then, both the fighters have spared no chance at taking a dig at each other.
Leon Edwards vs Jorge Masvidal – who gets the win?
Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal are both extremely proficient strikers. However, Edwards is a more all-around fighter who likes to mix things up if necessary. Meanwhile, Masvidal carried huge power and has a great stand-up game despite the vicious loss in his last fight. While one would favor Leon Edwards to win a three-round fight, should the fight go more than three rounds, there’s every reason to believe that Jorge Masvidal stops Leon Edwards to pick up the victory.
