Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes’ feud continues to get brutal with each passing week. The rivalry began when “The Beast Incarnate” ruthlessly dismantled Cody the Raw after WrestleMania 39. Later, The American Nightmare responded by challenging Brock to a match. At Backlash 2023, Rhodes managed to emerge victorious over a bloodied and battered Lesnar.
However, the feud between the two was far from over, as the former UFC champion reignited the rivalry by cheating Cody out of the World Championship tournament and attacking him. Following the attack, Lesnar challenged Cody to a rematch at Night of Champions PLE. Furthermore, the feud reached a brutal boiling point on the go-home episode of Raw, when Brock attacked Rhodes again.
The show began with the former AEW star entering the arena, only to get blindsided by Lesnar. Brock initiated a brutal beatdown on Cody also injuring his arm with a metal can. Later on the show, Rhodes stepped up to Lesnar with an injured arm. However, it didn’t end well for Cody, as Brock locked him in a kimura lock and seemingly broke his arm.
Following the incident, Triple H tried to explain to Cody that he should not fight with the broken arm. However, Rhodes was adamant about fighting Lesnar and convinced Hunter for the match to take place as planned. Henceforth, seeing how Rhodes takes on Lesnar at Night of Champions with a seemingly broken arm would be interesting.
Former WWE star, Goldust was unhappy with Brock Lesnar for attacking Cody Rhodes
Though it seemed Brock Lesnar actually broke Cody Rhodes’ arm on TV, fans believe it was part of the kayfabe to build up their match. However, a recent tweet by Cody’s brother indicates otherwise. Following the incident on Raw, Dustin Rhodes aka Golddust took to Twitter to address the situation between Brock and his brother, Cody.
@BrockLesnar is a piece of shit!!
— Dustin Rhodes (@dustinrhodes) May 23, 2023
Dustin expressed his frustration towards Lesnar by stating, “@BrockLesnar is a piece of sh*t!!”. The tweet garnered the attention of the wrestling world and increased the hype for the match at Night of Champions. Dustin has been vocal about Cody’s WWE run in the past as well.
Moreover, it is still unclear whether Dustin is legitimately angry at Lesnar for brutalizing his brother or not. Most fans also reacted to the tweet by speculating Goldust might be returning to the WWE to assist his brother against Brock Lesnar. Henceforth, it remains to be seen how the story develops further.
